Terrail Lambert needed a giant for a small role in his film class. He didn't need to look far -- just to Notre Dame's offensive line.
Sam Young plays the giant in the second-to-last scene of the movie "Seven Minutes of Hell." Lambert said it's the brainchild of Notre Dame student Kate Leszkowicz, his partner in the film class.
"If you guys remember growing up playing the game 'Seven Minutes of Heaven,' well, this is 'Seven Minutes of Hell,'" Lambert said. "Basically, this guy goes into the closet with this girl and they are about to kiss and whatever and right when it happens, he gets snatched out into this world for seven minutes and it's a series of catastrophic-like events that take place where his life is threatened."
One of those doing the threatening is Young. According to Lambert, Young is holding a club and about to knock the guy silly when he ends up escaping to the next room. So Sam Young, congratulations, you're now immortalized as part of one person's Hell.
"Definitely a facet of it," Lambert said. "Without a doubt."
Young wasn't available Monday -- but we've already made it a point to chat with him Wednesday about his newfound stardom on the silver screen for the short. And we've also e-mailed the brainchild to find out more about the movie and Young.
Stay tuned. Because Lambert's trying to make Young a star.
"Send him to Hollywood," Lambert said.
