Although the retirement party's been held and Roy Chin has hung up his skates for the last time, there will be a profile of the popular papa of former Komets captain Colin Chin in Friday's Journal Gazette.
Roy Chin sat down with me and talked candidly about his fight with cancer, and looks back on a coaching and volunteer career that got started in the early '60s.

New to The Blog,
Roy was a great referee, and i had played in a few games when i played at McMillen. I remember one penalty he called against me was Donut Dunking(Which was really holding), I thought it was the weirdest call i have ever heard. Roy was truly a great ambassador to the sport of hockey.
BTW- Bloomington signed former komet Jeff MacMillan.

Roy is prob. the most respected man in the Fort Wayne Hockey Community. I love that man with all my heart and wish him the best with his battle with cancer.
