Komets forward Matt Reynolds is taking his services elsewhere. The Excel Hull Stingrays of the bmibaby Elite League has signed the 27-year-old forward for the upcoming season.
Reynolds scored 19 goals and 33 assists during a record-setting regular season and eight points in 13 games on the way to the Turner Cup, and was a solid presence at the offensive end particularly.

Let's put it this way, I dont stop and watch women's tennis because I enjoy watching tennis.........lol I have known some fairly fugly guys score big time in this city with the ladies just because they wore the orange and black. Besides, if your trying to learn the game and asking questions to do so (when most guys will just pretend they know) then I think that places you in a different category than "puck bunny"....

jr...thank you very much...i appreciate the support and the honesty! i do love the game, and am trying to learn all i can about it. i've gotten lots of help on here and from my buddy deuce as well, and i am grateful to all who have been nice to a rookie learning her way! but i might be in trouble...i ask all kinds of people all around me at the games for help on what's going on sometimes...mostly the guys because i think they seem to know...are you telling me they might just be b.s.ing me?? uh-oh...

Shaw I agree with you. I can't wait till the season starts so we can get back to hockey and not all the beauty salon discussions.

This blog is becoming pathetic. Do you ladies think we really want to read all that crap? I used to log on and comment almost daily but this is ridiculous. Just asking a favor...please keep your posts about real hockey subjects???
Posted by: 55kometfan | July 02, 2008 at 07:47 PM
Seriously, what's the big deal? Ruining the blog? C'mon! Start a different subject if you don't like it.

You're right Jungle.... here's a new topic....
HOCKEY

Wow, some of you guys need to take it easy.... This is a slow time in the off season and you want to treat it like its the night before game 7... Take the conversation for what it is and leave it be or take JM's advice and start a different subject...
Posted by: JR | July 02, 2008 at 09:45 PM
Ok, 55, lets talk hockey... What on your mind??
Posted by: JR | July 02, 2008 at 09:48 PM
ok, ok I'll take it easy. I understand it's the off season so I'll keep that in mind. I just don't want to read "who's the hottest and who's the nicest player" on the team when the season comes around, that's all.
To all you Blackhawk fans... how about those signings this week?? I think we got a serious playoff contender this year.
Posted by: 55kometfan | July 02, 2008 at 10:04 PM
I dont know, 55, I think they overspent a lil bit for what they got. Cambell is a good offensive d-man; but +8 with 62 pts. worries me a lil bit. And over 12 million locked up in your two goalies is absurd to me. Been a Hawks fan all my hockey life and these last few years have killed me; but I am really excited for this coming season more because of all the young talent the Hawks have than for thier FA signings...
Posted by: JR | July 02, 2008 at 10:11 PM
Blackhawks look good and should do well - sure had Red Wing's number early last year. I think all roads go through Detroit though. Also, it looks like the "Mullet" and company are trying to steal the show.
Posted by: Geronimo | July 02, 2008 at 10:35 PM
I would agree that they may have overspent. I would like to see them bring Crawford up from the "A" more this year... watched him from the 1st row shutout the Ducks this year. He's got a bright future and I hate to say it but I think Habby is getting too old although I love the guy.

Funny how so many of the men on here get extremely defensive when someone jokes about finding a player attractive. No one has made or is planning to make a "cutest player" list. Get a grip and put away your measuring sticks. And if I want to say that Mitch Woods is hot, I will.
HEY, WORLD! MITCH WOODS IS HOT!!!
And 55kometfan, I'll have you know that I've never set foot in a beauty salon, and frankly, I find that comment sexist.
But if you want to talk NHL, there is really only one story worthy of discussion today. Can you believe that Hossa guy? :P

Tampa Bay=good signings-Pittsburgh=falling apart. Now the Mrs. has got to root for colarado=Darcy Tucker=she likes him as a player 1st=also thinks he's good looking!!!
Posted by: mightbite | July 03, 2008 at 06:43 AM
never liked hossa even while rooting for the pens during the cup series(until he scored for us, of course...then i could stand him)...but still shocked me that he went to the redwings...oh well, i hate them, so they can have him too! yep, the pens might fall apart. sorta sucks, cuz they seemed to be just coming together at the end there...bad deal for pittsburgh. was glad to hear they locked up (pardon my pun) malkin for another few years for themselves...hope he gets over his scoreless slump during the off season. he sure was hot during the regular season! and settle down, i'm talking playing wise, 55kometfan...sheesh...

Mrs.mightbite favorite Komet of all-time =Terry Pembrooke/mightbite favorite=Shawn Cronin.
Posted by: mightbite | July 03, 2008 at 11:19 AM
Cat's fave Komet of all time...Steve Fletcher!! Close second...Mitch Woods!! Seeing a theme here?? They look nothing alike, so it's not the looks thing, boys, settle down...
And what exactly is a beauty salon, anyway? Really, I am not sure...I have heard the term, but I've never been, so I'm a little lost...I think it was before my time, maybe? When I hear it, I think of my Grandma...
Posted by: Cat Eyes | July 03, 2008 at 04:36 PM
Cats Eyes-I have a game worn Fletcher jersey=I received it from him in a trade for another one of his jerseys+it painfull to spell your name=dogs rule=my little 85lb girl looks like the chicago Hounds mascot on roids.
Posted by: mightbite | July 03, 2008 at 05:35 PM
Mightbite...that is awesome about the Fletch jersey!! Sorry the name is painful for ya...got my name from my tattoo...got my tattoo from my own eyes, which someone told me looked like cat eyes a long long time ago, so there ya go. No love for real cats myself, but I don't have dogs either, just never did. Not anti-dog, just never had one of my own. Lived with a few...lol!
Posted by: Cat Eyes | July 03, 2008 at 08:13 PM
I thought you may have 10,000 cats=Ha-Ha/have a safe & happy 4th.Komet jerseys=a little out of my price range to buy at the auction=I try to find them when they have played with other teams.
Posted by: mightbite | July 04, 2008 at 08:02 AM
Yep...out of my price range by far as well...I go for the You Tube videos instead and post them on my Myspace page instead!! I even have vintage Fletch vids on there back from before his Komets days...I cannot for the life of me right now remember who he was with, but he was their enforcer too...could not believe I found those out there. Made mine and my kid's day!! And nope, not even one cat!! Ha ha!! I'm not some old cat woman!! Deuce might have outed me as over 30, but not THAT far over...

Hossa going to the Red Wings was bad enough. It was what he said afterwards and the details of the deal that made it a real "slap in the face" for Pittsburgh. Apparently he had better offers elsewhere but accepted an inferior contract to play for Detroit. He didn't even give the Penguins the option of matching the deal. He said he wanted to win a cup. That was all that mattered to him. And he felt he had a better chance of doing that in Detroit.
Okay, so as you know, I don't have a problem with the Red Wings. But now I can't help but hope they NEVER win a cup -- not with this clown, at least.
Posted by: Wendy | July 08, 2008 at 07:19 PM
What a schmuck...Hossa, that is...oh well. Red Wings can have him, for all I care...they deserve each other!! I just hope their Cup winning streak is over after this year...time for the San Jose Sharks to win it so "the goalie" can celebrate!!
