Here's another "stab" at the IHL from everyones most hated reporter Eminian. I don't even think the Peoria fans like the guy.

Leave a comment, I did.

Nice articles Justin.

Justin Cohn

Well, at least he was attempting to point out a nice feat from the league. Ask him if he's ever seen a game. That would be a good start.

Conley

Can anyone enlighten me on what the referees are paid in our league? Per game? Salary? Thanks

Junior

I did. Told him to compare the SPHL's rosters w/ the IHL's.

It doesn't matter much, but the guy seems to be explicitly trying to put down the league any chance he gets.

Justin Cohn

There is sort of an elitist attitude in Peoria; he's not the only one out there, I'm afraid, who rags on the IHL and other circuits with nothing credible/attributable to back it up except like one St. Louis Blues executive.

Justin
Any word on if Chalk will play Wednesday?

Junior

Makes him and others look stupid IMO.

With your article Justin about the IHL, another thing on the refs, you mentioned that the ticky tack calls weren't happening in the neutral zone, yet according to the mandate at the beginning of the season, the neutral zone infractions were to be called more stingently than the attacking zone so once again we have a big disparity in officiating.

Nice article Justin. I agree with what you said about everything as it pertains to the league. One thing everyone has to keep in mind being labled as an "independant" league has it's advantages and disadvantages. Just like some don't recongize the "Northern Baseball League" as a AA level organization most will not recognized the IHL as being a AA level league either. Levels of play are used by the NHL/MLB/NBA and since we are not apart of the NHL development system we are not recognized as a "AA" level league.

Ok. I am so tired of all the complaining about referees. Although I have gotten on them a bit I can relate some what. I am an IHSAA official with basketball and there are two of us for 10 players and that even gets tough with the speed of the game today. Last year they made 3 man teams mandatory for all tournament games. 3 officials for 10 players. Put one ref on the ice with 10 skaters and he is instantly overwhelmed. I know I have been forced to work a game by myself. It sucks! You miss so much. I read there are 13 refs and only 6 teams. Work two per game and there would still 7 sitting at home. Come on! All the teams need to get off there wallets and shell out the extra money for two refs. At least for playoffs.

Conley, having 3 officials per game for basketball was the 2nd worst thing the IHSAA has done. I would be satisfied if you worked the games by yourself. I know you have an eye for sports!!

Conley

You agree they need at least two out there right?

Jerad Shaw

Yes I concur with that!

I left old boy Dave a suggestion on hockey.
Maybe he'll make the effort to act on it.
