In your list of players that you felt really stepped up in the last series(in previous blog) I'm kind of suprised that Hodgeman didn't show up on your list. There were several times during penalty kills and even strength that he was the lone player seriously forechecking. His talent will be missed when he goes back the the juniors next year...he could grow to be a combo of Chalk, Huck, and Woods. In any case its nice to have his talent and fresh legs for the playoffs.
Wow. With Saidachev back the Komets have allowed 1 yes one whole goal and that was by Bouchard so that is not too special anyway. Good call sitting Marchant. We needed that spark. Terry is good but just not the most exciting guy to watch. We had van drunen big lip and rohr with the lolly pop kids. Who are we going to pick on from the port?
According to the "Other" blog, here is the schedule....
Game 1, Friday, 8 p.m., Fort Wayne
Game 2, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Port Huron
Game 3, Sunday, 6 p.m., Fort Wayne
Game 4, Wednesday, 7 p.m., Port Huron
Game 5, Thursday, 7:30 p.m., Fort Wayne
Game 6, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Port Huron
Game 7, Monday, 7:30 p.m., Fort Wayne
Good call. I don't feel that they have played much at the jungle this year. Oh well looks like they will only be here 3 more games. Komets in 5. Sounds bad but I wish we were playing tomorrow. I can't go a whole week without playoff hockey. I'm going insane! Friday will be awesome. Let's have a big crowd and let the MC just see who keeps all the lights on in that place.
Looks like we will win the cup on a thirsty Thursday if that schedule is correct. I need to put in for Friday off after that. Oh wait. I'm the boss. Great
Wow, Blake beat Justin to the punch on the release of the schedule. I guess I will have to start going to the "other' blog for all ov my information. lol
Well Justin has a job and can't live to feed his readers. That might not even be the correct schedule. Im sure Cohny is waiting for the facts and not airing rumors.
Good call on Hodgeman, Keith! I thought he was one of the best on friday night and for most of the playoffs. He looked like he had taken a beating after the game down by the locker room! It is a real shame that he has to go play one more year of junior's because the way he has looked he could be a star up here on this level.
I'm ok with schedule. They definately want it over quickly. We are the younger team and endurance is key with so many games in a few days. I still say we will only need 5. We win at home. Unless the broom comes out and then I will be in port huron on Wednesday.
Slow day at shop=lots of posts. If that bus deal is still brewing for Saturday. I need 3 seats with no tour guide fee. I have my chaffuer hat all polished up thanks to Shaw.
I've noticed a few postings that I would like to touch on considering the "other forum".
It's a shame that we all can't benefit from the knowledge, information and insight that BOTH of our talented writers share with us without us turning it into some sort of childish competition between the 2.
As I see it the "dark place" was put in a no win situation earlier and because of it many of us have been immature in our thoughts, actions and postings.
If the K's were smart enough to use 2 goalies to win the cup why can't we all see that these 2 guys have separate but equally valuable gifts that we can use to our benefit without putting them in direct competition with one another?
I just think we ALL win when they both thrive.
Please keep up the great work.....BOTH of you.
RaVeN, the reason I used the term the "other" blog was all in fun. Blake's blog used to get 80% of the chatter and was the place to check first. Things got out of hand and he rightfully shut it down for a while. Now Justin's blog gets 95% of the chatter.
I meant no harm against Blake, but it seems that many people forget his blog is even there, hence it being the "other" blog.
Weather forecast for Port Huron Saturday looks like partly sunny high of 65 degrees with a chance of showers in the afternoon. Look for Shaw and me in a heated cornhole match in the lot. Hope to see a lot there. Go Komets!
Justin, I noticed that the Journal Gazette moved you to top billing on all the blogs, Nice!

Kind of stinks that if it goes to game seven, it will be on a MONDAY night...
I think we will take it in six, but I hope it will be 5 at home.

For those going up to Port Huron:
They have a special deal at the Holiday Inn next to the arena. 90 bucks gets you a 1 night stay and 2 tickets to the game.
Call: 1-810-987-5999
I make no money on this, but relaying the info.

I believe that to be the correct schedule. That is what is up on IHL site.

The K's got the short end on that schedule. One Friday and One Sunday the rest week day games. Will it effect attendance? I think it will a little.

Just a thought. What do all of the readers do when Cohn goes on vacation?
Posted by: Conley | April 28, 2008 at 02:18 PM
You're correct; Hodgman should have been on there.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | April 28, 2008 at 02:22 PM
Conley, when justin is on vacation there is crying about RnR Part 2 for a while and then crying about not being in the AHL. Thats about it.
Posted by: Andy | April 28, 2008 at 02:34 PM
2 more for the bus here....Go Komets
