In case you're wondering, the weather being nasty and all, Komets president Michael Franke said he checked with the Flint Generals and they're going to leave extra early on Wednesday morning to be here in time for the 7:30 p.m. game at Memorial Coliseum.
That game, of course, is to make up for the Feb. 6 game that was called off because because of bad weather in Michigan that prevented the Generals from making it down.

This mess were seeing outside now will be right in their path of travel on 69 tomorrow. Heck i'd say even leave today! lol!

Flint wouldn't do that, that would be the logical thing to do...

I'm still waiting for WINTER to start!!!!
Posted by: mightbite | March 04, 2008 at 06:45 PM
Shhhh, haven't you heard, professional teams aren't supposed to worry about making it to games.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 04, 2008 at 06:49 PM
Actually here in and around Manchester area we haven't got as much sleet as everyone else it has been pretty much all snow...and its suppose to be done later on tonight..hopefully road crews can get out and clean up the mess! and by the way..my hero finally retires today....what are the packers going to do?
Posted by: kometfan | March 04, 2008 at 07:11 PM
Motel 6 in Fort Wayne anyone? Is sleeping over night because of winter really that expensive? Minor league baseball teams have to do it all the time (although they do have money coming from a higher power).
Posted by: Andrew | March 04, 2008 at 07:12 PM
Hush, mightbite! My normally 12 minute commute took me almost an hour today... But when I finally did get home the tree in front of my house was full of robins getting sleeted on. I don't think I'm gonna make it to the game tomorrow, so hopefully someone will keep us updated!
Posted by: FiveMinuteMajor | March 04, 2008 at 07:33 PM
it will ruin my week and weekend if the game is cancelled tomorrow...since i cant go saturday... does anyone know how the weathers suppose to be saturday and sunday?...

I saw somewhere else where Sims is changing the lines around. he is putting Drouin with Chaulk and Woods on the top line, and moving Aquino down with Marchant and Reynolds. I don't like this. It worries me a little bit. Aquino, Chaulk, and Woods should stay together. I always wondered what a line of Aquino, Curadeau, and Saidachev would look like. Speedy to say the least. Or Woods, Aquino, Curadeau.
I say don't mess with a good thing, Mr. Puhulski....errrr....Al.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a great day, no school (I'm in high school, and I already have a two hour delay)then a Komet game in the evening, nice.
Posted by: Ryne Gurney | March 04, 2008 at 10:39 PM
well i hope the frankes get a clue...if they want some fans they might push this game back....the conditions are horrible outside...we have about 6 or 7 inches of snow where im at...maybe more....and im south of fort wayne so ....who knows....id like to come but if roads are as bad as they are now im not riskin it to see some minor league hockey!@
Posted by: kometfan | March 04, 2008 at 11:36 PM
Push it back? And cause everyone to be out til midnight watching a game when people have work six hours later?
That's not smart. Regardless, this stuff is pretty much over so the road crews have about 20 hours to work with it before the game tomorrow. You guys got snow...we got ice in Muncie. The snow will come up pretty easily.
Though, since the game hasn't been pushed by anyone except at exisiting games, I'm saying we'll have about 2,500 in the building tomorrow.
Posted by: FWKRTJ | March 04, 2008 at 11:43 PM
I meant to another date...and yea.......let me say this we got our ice and then snow on top of it...no crews out....and i think only 1000 will show
Posted by: kometfan | March 04, 2008 at 11:52 PM
I would like to make the trip tomorrow. Not sure though. Going to the Hawks game on Friday so have to watch the cash flow!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 12:56 AM
JugleMonkey will be in the house! I'm hoping for the weather to dampen the crowd on Sat so I can pick up a camo jersey at a lower price.
Posted by: Jungle Monkey | March 05, 2008 at 08:28 AM
Amen to that!!! How much do you think the camo jerseys will go for?
Posted by: Hoss | March 05, 2008 at 08:59 AM
Most folks I've talked to think that they are ugly. I'm still assuming that Chaulk, Dupuis and the like will go for $600+. I've 4-5 players that I hope slide under the radar. Being a one of a kind, it would be nice to pick one up, but I don't have that Justin Cohn kind of coin, so we'll have to wait and see..
Posted by: Jungle Monkey | March 05, 2008 at 09:27 AM
Are they wearing those jersey's tonight? I thought it wasn't until the Sat game?
BTW I wouldn't mind a different game date as I am out of town and can't make the game anyway.
Just so everyone knows, I'm in Phoenix, AZ where it's been sunny with 70 degrees tepms.
Posted by: Greg | March 05, 2008 at 09:40 AM
Greg, you attending any spring training games?
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 10:18 AM
Good Luck to the Komets tonight! Wish I could go but am going to Blackhawks game tonight and see them whoop on some Ducks! I'll make sure to tell Todd Marchant his brother Terry said the Komets could beat the Ducks this year.
Posted by: New Komet Fan | March 05, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Camo sweaters on Sat.
Posted by: Jungle Monkey | March 05, 2008 at 10:38 AM
I would like to take this time to talk about how much we should appreciate Justin Cohn and his professionalism. Brendan Savage is on ITB nit-picking and making fun of a typo on a post from a Komet fan....I would expect it from others but come on...he is supposed to be a "professional" journalist. Report your news and do your job.
Sorry, just my 2 cents.
Posted by: tj | March 05, 2008 at 10:48 AM
The Ducks will easily handle the hawks tonight. You might as well not even bother going.
Posted by: Bubb Rubb | March 05, 2008 at 10:51 AM
The Hawks will dominate tonight on their home ice!!!!!
They took care of the North Stars last night, and are on a tear to meet the Deadwings in the 1st round of the playoffs.
BOOK IT!!
There's going to be more then a thousand people tonight, the roads aren't that bad.
Posted by: Junior | March 05, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Jared, no. I've went by most of the sites in the area but not to a game. I do have tickets to tomorrows Phoenix-Montreal game.
Posted by: Greg | March 05, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Greg, i would take my snow day over your sunny and 70 any day, (i'm a golfer, so not really. But the roads should be clear well before game time, and the sun is out so the roads will just be wet. I predict 3500, but they will announce 5100
Posted by: Ryne Gurney | March 05, 2008 at 12:02 PM
Ryan, all I can then is go Komets. Going hiking today up in the hills adter a while. Tehn got to get ready for church tonight.
Big debate going here on whether Glendale wants to bid to host the Super Bowl again in 2012. Glendale City Council thinks a lot of other communitites profttied from thier expense and wants to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Posted by: Greg | March 05, 2008 at 12:13 PM
Cohny...nice topshelf goal yesterday thought I heard the walls at McMillen whisper "OVECHKIN".How about Friday? The "D" will be a little stronger though.
Posted by: St.Christopher | March 05, 2008 at 12:17 PM
I like what your saying Hit Somebody.
I think Aquino Curadeau and Woods. Chaulk Hukalo and Shafronov/Saidachev. Drouin, Marchant, and Reynolds. With Legault thrown in when needed. He needs more ice time to fight or not.
Posted by: lovelost | March 05, 2008 at 12:23 PM
If our record was dismal and pathetic and the team had no gel, I'd definately second guess Coach Sims and his line selection. Now, considering he's played alongside Bobby Orr the greatest D-man of all time, already won a championship in the IHL, coached at all levels of hockey including AHL and the NHL and has the best team in the IHL to date. Can't say I'd be critical of his line/shift selections. If I'm wrong I'll gladly eat crow, but I'm not qualified to question his hockey intellect, he'd definately beat me with experience.Different perspective, thats all.

Well, after my move from VA Beach back to Indiana, I finally got my internet back up. I made it to a couple of games since Mid-Jan and I am going tonght...Hoss, Lets grab that beer. But I read through a couple of topics and then switched to see what Savage had to say....and I am not surprised by the way he is so unprofessinal with his writing. Check out todays post. After reading that, I hope the Komets run up the score and just pound them until they want to get back on the bus. Thats just me though. GO Komets.
Posted by: Dusty | March 05, 2008 at 02:50 PM
St.Christopher sounds like a sharp guy and Savage is an idiot.
Posted by: kyle hunt | March 05, 2008 at 03:30 PM
Savage IS a moron...jealousy is a terrible thing
Posted by: hobo | March 05, 2008 at 04:22 PM
Brothers' Hunt and Hobo.....AMEN!
Posted by: St.Christopher | March 05, 2008 at 04:45 PM
L.O.L.
Posted by: kyle hunt | March 05, 2008 at 05:31 PM
OK, St. Christopher, first of all, thank you. I thought both my goals were breathtaking, but also counting only 1/2 each because everyone was gassed. But more importantly, I'm a little alarmed that I don't know which one is my on-ice stalker. Kidding. I think. Maybe.

Where can I find savages blog ?
Posted by: mightbite | March 05, 2008 at 06:42 PM
The funny thing about this is he's not ripping the Komets or even me anymore, he's taking shots at the city. I've had fun with Flint before, but I thought this was a little, well, decide for yourself.

Savage is trying to get some traffic his way to the blog. It's a shame his writing can't do that for him. Justin, are you going to be blogging from the game tonight?!?!? Stuck in Warsaw!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 07:14 PM
is the game on radio ???
Posted by: joehockeyman | March 05, 2008 at 07:36 PM
That savages blog has no traffic= its like taking the back road to that AC/DC song =Highway to ----.
Posted by: mightbite | March 05, 2008 at 07:48 PM
Yeah on ESPN 1380
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 07:53 PM
The traffic Savage gets is when he makes a comment about Ft. Wayne. He knows that sparks the interest. That is why he does it.
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 07:55 PM
I hate when komets are on when i have a exam the next day... I need to study, But Bob's sweet voice keeps pulling me back....I am going to fail this midterm and its the komets fault!
go K's
Posted by: Andy | March 05, 2008 at 07:58 PM
I'm sure the Franke's will cover your summer session!!! :) No worries!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 08:04 PM
K's look good so far. It's tied at 1-1 after 1. A lot of end-to-end, odd-man rushes. Boucher had a great early save on a 4-on-1 rush, but he got beat by a 15-foot backhand shot that I think surprised him a little bit.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 05, 2008 at 08:16 PM
Chaser was extremly excited about that Boucher save. Had to have been a good one!!!

Frankes paying for schooling??? HMMM Would i have to go to IPFW for that?
Posted by: Andy | March 05, 2008 at 08:40 PM
They would probably pay as long as you aren't going to Ball State. That school doesn't produce productivity after graduation :)
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 05, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Well, I am glad to be a Hoosier then. However, the guys from Ball State can make more trips to the Jungle easily in comparison to me :(
