KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- We are having some internet problems up here at Wings Stadium. Bear with us if you want to do the chat; I will be back when I can.
Komets lead 2-1 in the first period, thanks to goals from Evgeny Saidachev and P.C. Drouin.
Colin Chaulk isn't playing because of the flu.
Be back when I don't have to borrow Pam Shebest's computer. Thanks Kalamazoo Gazette!
is that why it is not on the radio??

Nice job at the break Justin!

Cohny...where are you skating tomorrow afternoon? Case of beer says my man Bertram gets a goal tonite.
Posted by: St.Christopher | March 17, 2008 at 07:58 PM
I have a private lesson. You're not invited. However, I have a group of guys who are playing on Tuesday afternoons that I'm going to be hooking up with in two weeks if you're interested. email me jcohn@jg.net.

Anything going on between Henley and the little guy tonight?
Posted by: Hoss | March 17, 2008 at 08:21 PM
No Hoss nothing with Willis and Henley but Legualt and Nebus fought in a crappy scrap. Justin How many can you have on play off roster?
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 08:23 PM
If David Franke is correct, you can have 19, including your amateurs, on the active roster.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 08:27 PM
By the way, St. Chrisopher, you realize that case of beer will be Corona Light, right?
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 08:31 PM
Or Shlitz.
By the way, I will be on with Bob during the second intermission. Wow, on with both team's broadcasters in the same night. I'm multi-media Justin.

Chase says the goalies are practically standing on their heads. Truly impressive?
Posted by: Sherry | March 17, 2008 at 08:37 PM
I'll take Pabst Blue Ribbon in bottles, can find them at any CVS that sells alcohol
Posted by: St.Christopher | March 17, 2008 at 08:38 PM
So if that is the case will they have to release some guys or can they be put on the IR just like regular season?
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 08:39 PM
IR will still exist. I'm sure they'll end up there. ... The goaltending's OK, nothing like last weekend.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 08:42 PM
Whew! This has been stressful with the internet. You forget how spoiled we are with ethernet and wireless. When you lose it, your world comes crumbling down.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 08:43 PM
Big win here. I bet my boy Conley is getting a bit wild!!! Always enjoyable with him up there!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Justin do you think the K's are playing their best hockey here over the last couple weeks? I know they clinch and are awaiting the playoff's but at times they look like they just are existing on the ice. KZoo is playing desparate hockey, play-off style and we have been struggling to put teams like Kzoo away...
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 08:55 PM
KZOO is playing desprate Playoff style hockey and we win in a shootout and are tied right now. I'm happy with that as we have already clinched what we need to clinch. These guys need to play in some close games to get that fire back in their bellies that they won't feel until the playoffs.
I do understand what you are saying though. It's 1/2 one way, another 1/2 the other.
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 08:57 PM
No, this hasn't been anywhere near their best in the last 2 2/3 games. But they are missing arguably their top two players. And they keep winning. ...
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 08:59 PM
Seriously Cohny...light beer?
Posted by: St.Christopher | March 17, 2008 at 09:02 PM
How's the green ice look Justin??? I had 2 green Miller Lite's at dinner and prefer the normal. Same way when looking at the ice?
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:03 PM
The last couple of years we have great regular season only to get out played and out physicaled in the play-off's because we were unable to play desprate hockey..Just think we have not seen that type of play here of the last couple of weeks. Yes having Chaulk out of the line-up hurts but his play has been the most consistant in my IMO
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Last year's team didn't play physical much at all. They were a very very finese team. This year is alot different. The pieces have fit together like a puzzle. We have scorers and defenseman that fit well together. We also have the most toughness out of any team in the IHL. The Franke's in my opinion did one of their best jobs putting this team together.
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:11 PM
Yeah, I'm on a diet. Actually, I drink the real stuff. Goose, baby. ... The green ice looks great. Nicer hue than the other years I've seen. The one problem is they messed up the pain on the goal crease that Boucher is defending now. They colored outside the lines, if you will.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 09:11 PM
That will be a reason for protest!!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Will you be putting a photo of the green ice on your blog (like last year?)
Posted by: Sherry | March 17, 2008 at 09:17 PM
I hope the Franke's are keeping Chaulk away from the team until he is better. I would rather him miss three games than spread his illness.
Posted by: Shawn | March 17, 2008 at 09:21 PM
Unfortunately, we are no longer allowed to take pictures with our company cell phones, so, no. We should have photos in the newspaper tomorrow, though.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | March 17, 2008 at 09:21 PM
Sounds like that one goal was on Henley. Yikes
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Yup Henley fell down resulting in a goal.
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 09:27 PM
What a game in Kalamazoo!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:34 PM
What a pass from Drouin. Ties it up at 4
Posted by: New Komet Fan | March 17, 2008 at 09:34 PM
Chaser, not happy with Durdin's pass selection!!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:38 PM
If photos make the paper, they should make the website so I guess those of us who had to work tonight can see the green ice then. Sounds like a great game!
Posted by: Sherry | March 17, 2008 at 09:38 PM
Komets going to be shorthanded for a minute in regulation and 1 minute in OT

Posted by: Mark | March 17, 2008 at 09:46 PM
FYI Sherry, they said Chaulk isn't on the trip, so I think they have quarentined him!! :)
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:48 PM
Komets looked very timid in Overtime...
its shootout time..
Posted by: Mark | March 17, 2008 at 09:55 PM
no SOG in OT?? wow...sounded like they were missin the net.
Posted by: tj | March 17, 2008 at 09:55 PM
Shootout. Wish I would have b2'd this one!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 09:55 PM
Kwings win...Komets shooters were horrible tonight
Posted by: Mark | March 17, 2008 at 09:59 PM
And there ya have it!!! Prepare for the KZOO bombardment on the board!!!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | March 17, 2008 at 10:00 PM
I have been telling you for the last few days the K's are not playing very good hockey at this point. No way should a team such as Kzoo be even able to skate with the K's and have tied them in two games in a row. We allow 30+ shots tonight. At this time of year you should be playing your best hockey and I afraid we are not at this point..Great effort to tie it up but should never been in the situation tonight...
Posted by: ToeBlake | March 17, 2008 at 10:03 PM
Aquino has stunk in shootouts. Huck and Saidachev need chances in the shootout. Can't blame Sims for going with PC or Shaf though.
Posted by: Jungle Monkey | March 17, 2008 at 10:06 PM
Absolutely not JM, but all these guys did was skate down and shoot the puck. No deke or anything, almost like they didn't care if they scored or not..I'm not thats what happened, but it looked like it. Komets were very timid in OT period to, almost like they are afraid to make a play. I mean Marchant had a 2 on 1 break and waited way to look to do anything with the puck...
Posted by: Mark | March 17, 2008 at 10:09 PM
oops that should be saying in there...
Posted by: Mark | March 17, 2008 at 10:10 PM
Toeblake-
Curudeau being out is why they are playing like they are it seems like. Curadeau is a HUGE part of this team. His intensity and hitting get the team jumpstarted, not to mention his playing making ability.
