All tests were negative and Komets defenseman Kevin Hansen was discharged from Parkview Hospital at about 4 a.m. Thursday.
According to general manager David Franke, Hansen is experiencing soreness in his head, neck and shoulder, and he will not play this weekend.
Hansen could return to the lineup Wednesday at Bloomington, Ill., but that depends on how he feels.
Hansen was injured when he was checked from behind and driven headfirst into the boards by Muskegon's Justin Rohr in a 4-1 Komets victory.
The Komets play at Muskegon, Mich., on Friday night. They may activate defenseman Brandon Warner, who separated his shoulder Dec. 28, to take Hansen's spot in the lineup.

Good news, he'll bounce back, always does!
i watched the hit a bunch of times

the only thing i can figure out is that Rohr took 7 - 8 strides to hit Hansen, upon impact it appears he lost his stick. Just after Rohr left the Bud light logo Hansens Back was facing Rohr and Hansens hips were facing the bench.

After talking to a guy @ work that knows much more about hockey then I will ever figure out, he explained to me that you avoid a collision from behind at all cost. Once a guy's back is turned and is in a vulnerable postion like that, you must either miss the check or avoid it all together. The only thing is on this play, Hanson did have control of the puck when Rohr got to the Bud Light logo. If Hanson stays upright, he is lead into the bench, hard, but not face first. I don't know enough about hockey to judge weather that was a cheap shot or not. I don't know the unwritten rules, I'm just glad that Hanson seems to be doing okay! Just play smart tomorrow night and win another one boys!!!! The scoreboard hurts worse then anything!

Whew...that's good news. I wasn't at the game last night but I talked with some customers today who were and they said it was one of the nastiest hits they'd seen.
Thanks for all the updates, Justin!

You can never say "he ment harm" but in all reality.... it was a hit in the back. I agree with the rules on this but sometimes i feel guys turn to draw a penalty. I do not, however, feel kevin did this. could have been bad timing or whatever, but even if he didnt mean to hit him like that. a suspension could be in his future.
