As a reminder, the Komets and FortWayne.com are asking for fans to bring donations to four games, Nov. 30, Dec. 1, Dec. 15 and Dec. 16, which will be shipped to American troops around the world, as part of Project Komet Kare Package 2.
The items can include things like beef jerky, white socks, soap, powdered drinks, deodorant, body lotion and wash, snacks, plastic utensils and phone cards. For a full list of items, click here.
There are restrictions on pressurized items and products in glass containers. Liquids must be secured and chocolate doesn't ship well. Hand sanitizer is prohibited.

As an active duty Serviceman, I would like to thank everybody who puts this on for the past couple of years and everybody who supports this cause. The troops do appreciate this. One hot item that is not on the list is Baby Wipes. Sometimes when you are on a patrol or convoy for a couple of days, showers are hard to come by, thats when baby wipes comes into play. I am speaking from 28 months of experience in either Iraq or Afganastan. Again, Thanks to all who give.

Dusty, I just want to say thank you for your service. I don't think I say that enough, and just wanted to say thank you.

chuckitt,
Hand Sanitizer is flamable. You cannot send flamable material via Mail, or even on a Military flight without a HAZDEC. (that is a form stating what HAZMAT is on board the flight and what precautions you should take if anything should ever happen to it) HAZDECS are a time consumming process therfore, we just buy the stuff local.
