True to that Caleb.
and Hit I agree, we hsould be talking about hockey not other things.

JungleMonkey

Uh, HOCKEYFAN.... I never made a single statement about Kevin Hansen in this blog. So you're ridiculous rant can be directed at somebody else, Genius.

Where do these people come from?

morency fan

isnt this blog about komet hockey?!
its not about cutting each other down.

Jerad Shaw

Lovelost, Thanks for posting those fights on youtube!

morency fan

hey were they the fights from last night?

Hoss

OK, I don't know if anyone will read this since it's at the bottom of a long list of crap but oh well I will try...

First of all, yes the Web. Dick is annoying but if he/she has nothing better to do, so be it. We should treat him like we treat Scoops...ignore him. LOL

Second, the whole Hansen thing is way over blown! He didn't say, "This will be contuned by me whooping someone's face in!" I took his comment as the team will contune the hard fought game play with the Wings in the many games to come vs them. He wasn't trying to be a tough guy, just say that this is a tough TEAM!

Third, great game last night! The team played well and came back for the win! Hit, could you please stay home more often if they play like this when you are gone?

(Feel free to rip me apart now. I put a few mis-spelled words in there for you Web.)

Jerad Shaw

go to youtube.com type in Fort Wayne Komets on the search part, then click on date added and they will be at the top

JungleMonkey

I'm waiting for my public apology from HOCKEYFAN.

lovelost

No Problem.

lovelost

St. Pierre is doing great.

http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/playerpage.html?playerid=1535838&seasonid=2103

The only teams he has beat is against Mcwhinney at Amarilo and against Richardsons team.

JR

Wow, good ol blog...

I like the way Hansen plays and when he fights he does it the right way, standing up for a skill player when the cheap shot is taken. Not 10 minutes later in a pose fight at center ice... He gives his all out there every night and comes away with alot of bumps and bruises. Now I am not saying that pose fights are bad, I do like them, I just like the fights that happen in the heat of battle when the intensity level is at its highest...

Spell check please.... Lol

Greg

I was really impressed with how well the Komets were able to fight back after a horrible first 10 mins of the first.

I take Hansen as being a team leader and so far he's done nothing to dissapoint.

Webster-you read a fortune cookie, good for you.

mightbite

mightbit what section are your tickets in?

kometfan

ok ive been postin as kometfan but i haven't said anything about hanson....so i dont know who u are talkin to there junglemonkey?? ....but back to the game...i believe puckitt was sayin that durdin didnt do so well on defense..i believe when he fell that was partially pences fault on leaving him out to dry and durdin tried to hurry and get back in front of the two when he knew he was goin to get smoked skatin backwards....pure hustle made him fall....he also saved our butts quite a bit!!! lets go EAGLES

chuckitt

jr im glad yu like the way hansen fights. when was that? must take a lot to rile him up. if two guys doubleteamed me and two games later those same boys were on the ice with me, well im afraid i wouldnt wait for my mates to do the fighting for me. as a former player all i was trying to say is, he opened his mouth and dint back it up. if he was talking about his teammates, then as a teamate i would have to say, geez, thanks alot for getting me involved in your battle!! i like the way kevin plays defense, i was just upset he didnt stand up for himself after opening his trap. if hes hurt and unable to go, then i apologize. if not, its still my opinion he should have taken care of it himself. and if someone wanted to help out, then more fun for all!!

K.M.

Last nights game was easily the best game I have seen in a long long time. It is exactly the type of hockey I was hoping for when the IHL made all the rule changes this summer and basically told the rest of hockey to go fly a kite. I don't get how anyone could complain about last nights at all, in my opinion if you weren't entertained...you are simply loser and have no pulse. That is the type of intensity and passion that make hockey such a great sport.

Also to the few idiots that argued all summer long that fighting doesn't change the complexion game at all, well I think Al Sims said it best in the paper this morning. He mentioned that it gave the team a lift, the fans and crowd got involved and that it felt like 14 years ago. To me it just felt like hockey should.

I think the IHL has taken a huge step into giving what the majority of fans have been clamoring for. Sure there is going to be a stinker here and there, but more often then this year the games are leaps and bounds ahead of the last 10 years easily.

I still think the refs call some ticky tack stuff, but in fairness they have even improved as far as letting the players play and the flow is vastly improved. They also aren't overeacting and giving out game misconducts like crazy either...people pay to see the players play...not the refs be the show. Also props on just giving all players involved last night just 5 minute majors instead of gamers.

I hope the IHL keeps this going because this is the most excited I have been in years about games and we still got the big man Henley on the way...boy oh boy!

JR

So, Hansen should run around and try and settle scores??? Our Defense gives up too many odd man rushes as is and you want him to be out of position to go after somebody?? We already have two guys playing out of position in Warner and Pence, and with Bert taking on the world this year that leaves Hansen, Durdin and Shirikov to stay on the ice and eat up alot of minutes. We cannot afford to have Hansen sitting out for an extended amount of time to settle vendetta's... My 2 cents...

Mark your calendars: December 21st. K-Zoo comes to town, and Brent will be back. I can't wait!!! It's going to be WAR NIGHT baby!!!

Hit Somebody!!!

Great post KM.

The Fan

Well put K.M.,

I do agree. I've been talking about Saturday nights game all day. It had everything. emotion, physical play, scraps, a 0-3 come back, over time, and a shoot out WIN! Thank you Al Sims. David had asked in his post what it was that Brickley said to Chaulk to make him go off. It wasn't what he said, it was the cross check that he landed. The team proved that they have the guts and will to win. They played a good game in Flint the night before. We were behind in that one as well. Matt Reynolds had a great game. Olivier continues to impress me. What a presence on the ice. He is the physical type that I have missed (early to mid 90's). I love watching him yappin and bumping his man up the ice.

Does anyone know when Guy will return to action? We do miss him on Defence. GO KOMETS.

chuckitt

jr, hansen opened his mouth not me. i dont want him running around picking fights but if we cant afford to have him sitting out then the next time two guys jump him maybe somebody should give him a hand or as i said before, if he cant do it himself, he shouldnt open his mouth and put it on the shoulders of his teammates. hes a great d man and im glad hes on the team but all i heard before we got woods and henley back was that our toughness was handled with bert and hansen. ive seen burt do the tough stuff but i havent seen hansen do it yet. my 2 cents worth

chuckitt

oh and by the way, hey scoops, how come everytime someone disagrees with your almight thoughts you attack them? you complain about negative blogs and then you proceed to be the most negative person on here. if i dont think hansen is tough then thats just too bad. im entitled to my opinion without you attacking me. show me why my opinion is wrong but get off my case cause i doubt if you could take any criticisim yourself.

chuckitt

oh and p.s. at least i pay for my seat.

Websters Dictionary

Who am I to stand in the way of such a wealth of obliviousness?

JR

Agree to disagree.... I do think, however, that there are more ways than fighting to be a tough hockey player and Hansen does those things IMO...

scoops

What if Sims would of said that? Would anyone assume then that he was speaking for the team? Al Sims saying it is no different than any of the captains speaking up about it. Everyone in that lockerroom makes up one.

For the first time in a long time, guys are standing up for one another. Even if Hansen wanted to do something Saturday, I would wager there was already 4 or 5 guys saying "we got this tonight" rather than "gee, thanks" and that pretty much defines what a team is.

scoops

I guess I cannot disagree with you about being negative or that would be by dictionary terms....negative. If I am wrong, I'll admit it. If I am out of line, I'll apologize. I stand up for what I believe in, just like yourself. I don't believe in taking unnecessary whacks at the players mostly. Sometimes people go beyond the line, wherever that may be. When that happens you'll sometimes find me being a negative person at a negative person.

By the way, I take criticism from the rotunda all the way back to my seat 37 times a season. I know what it is. LOL

Jerad Shaw

Chuckitt, I believe Hanson's comment was just a broad one. It wasn't a slam on KZOO. His "to be continued," was the truth. Just because he stood up and said that, doesn't mean he turns into a fighter. He was just making the statement as a generalization. And he hit the nail right on the head. How great was it to hear the Jungle on Saturday night? That was what I remember as a kid!!!!

K's

What is the deal with Kukulka's injury?

chuckitt

yeh for the first time in a long time it actually was the jungle. but last year we started out with a lot of toughness but by christmas it kinda went away until henley came in. hopefully this team will keep up the intensity and go for it all season long!!

JR

Do you think that with last years team the toughness went away after the first of the year because it was the veterans on the team that were being asked to supply it and with the amount of ice time the vets were logging last year that they were just getting tired?? So this year with the rookies stepping up and Bert taking on the world that the toughness part of the game may stick around a lil longer...?? Just a thought...

JR

Also, is there any word on how Dupuis is healing or any info on Kulkulka's injury?? Or was he just a scratch??

And a curiosity question.. If Henley is signed and on the 21 day ir, why is he not listed on the K's roster???

redline

"I'm not sure who scoops is, but I am kinda wondering. Are you the Cocky and very arrogent scoop who didn't make there way out on the ice tonight??? I'm just trying to peeg who I am speaking with."

Jerad, classy for calling scoops cocky and arrogant. FYI...There were three scoops guys that didn't throw Saturday night. Scoops also did not call anyone out in his post(well David, but he apologized later.) yet he is being called Cocky and arrogant by you and a JM pile on.

It's obvious on this blog there are those that never listen to the opinions of others. It is there way or no way, even scoops is guilty of this. There are also those that will always say something negative no matter what happens at the game. We have a 1st place team and they are not perfect. But too many concentrate on the negatives rather than praise the team. It is still a young season, it is AA hockey and these guys are here for a reason. They may more mistakes than players at other levels. I am sure they hear about it enough from the coaches that they don't need the fans piling on.

As for saying Hansen should have had to drop the gloves, I say not necessarily. There have been many games where he is in the middle of things sticking up for teamates. I say it was time for the rest of the team to step up. He may not have fought Sat. or gotten the fighting majors this year but he always has his teamates back. I have gained a lot of respect for Hansen after last season and so far this season. He is definitely a team player and I would take him to battle with me anytime.

Jerad Shaw

Redline, It was a statement that probably shouldn't have been made, but alot of people have wanted to say it, but just haven't. For that I am suspending myself from the Blog until Friday.

chuckitt

jr i think that was a part of it and i think the rock was afraid of geetting suspended and maybe bingham discouraged the rough stuff allowing morencey to excite the crowd at times to make them forget the rest of the non hitting. who really knows?

puckit

I agree there is to many negative comments and people are always going to have them. But I didn't think this blog was for calling each other out.Maybe ask question, give information, and of course comments some negative and maybe some positive!About Hanson, everybody has their opinion on his fighting,I agree though he sticks up for his teammates all the time.A good one probably most of you missed was in kalamazoo.Bootland grabbed a hold of one of our players in a headlock with his left arm and threw his right glove off and started hitting him.Hanson wasn't to far away, but he threw his gloves off and flew over and jump on Bootland back to pull him off.Now he could of stood there and watched like alot of the others players would of and let the refs break it up,but he didn't!So critisize him if you want to, but he's there for his teammates, droppin them or not.

JW

talk about classy... alot of people on here just act like know it alls when they disagree with someones post and just take cheap personal shots at them. instead of taking shots at people respectfully disagree with someone and say what you think is right. its like middle school in here sometimes. sorry had to get that off my chest
