HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- I don't know what this feels like, but it's anything but a playoff atmosphere. With a couple hundred people here -- I think there's more workers than fans -- it's quiet as a tomb. A shame because it's been a good game so far. But it's hard to get into this because there's more excitement in my living room than in the stands. Oh well.
Anyway, the Komets lead it 1-0 after one period of play. Jonathan Goodwin scored the goal on a one-timer in front, after Bruce Richardson came out of the left corner and fed him a pass. Still, the Hounds look fairly sharp and this game could go either way at this point.
The Komets made a change in their lineup, inserting Brent Henley for Arthur Kiyaga on defense. Henley made his presence felt early, knocking Scott Seney out of the game with a hit. Seney came back late in the period. Meanwhile, I'm surprised Kiyaga is the one sitting instead of A.J. Bozoian, but Bozoian does bring a little more offense and physicality.
As for the Hounds, Jordan Hart is playing today in place of Chris Gehrke.
