I usually worry about time off, i'm not this time though, they are playing hard, hitting hard, getting hit, the rest will do this team good.

Jerad Shaw

I have to disagree with you on a few things Justin.

1. Guy played awful in game 5 for the first period. Im sure he would agree. Now, I didnt go Tuesday, but for the first period, Guy didn't play well on the offensive end. Most of the PP we had, he couldn't keep the puck in and threw bad passes. Non the less he can have a bad period and I still love the guy... quick side note. I was at my buddies house tonight and his wife had only been to games back in the day. She loved Guy then and now. I said that he played tonight and she was like we are going!!!!

2. Pascal hasn't looked himself on the road. People that I was with on Thursday thought he might be under the weather. He just seemed a tick slow. I understand he is still a hard hitting tough nosed player, but he just seemed a bit slow on the road all 3 games!!!

Im just adding my 2 cents. The K's won and had great effort all around WHEN IT WAS NEEDED. The next series its going to be needed for 60 min. every game!!!! Lets hope the boys can do it!!!

Brad Lyons

Coming out flat has never been about not playing, it's about not getting up for the game mentally--with so much time off, that certainly can happen. Hopefully, it won't. Coming out mentally prepared and even physically prepared is something you have direct control over. Unfortunately, this team has proved that we never know which team is going to show up. The good news? I think that no matter what coming out and playing Rockford (as it looks like), this team WILL be ready---it's ROCKFORD!

Komet Fan

As usual, Cohn must have been watching a different series than the rest of us.... Dupuis the best player in the Chicago series? Uh, sure.... Frenchy was great all series and then Marchant, Syro and Ruid were very solid as well.... Dupuis would be about the 6th best player in that series.

Justin Cohn

Yeah, you're right Komet fan, I wasn't paying attention to the defensive play. There is another end of the rink to watch. This isn't to say those guys weren't great -- St. Pierre was No. 2 in my opinion -- but defense won that series, not the other way around.

I gotta agree with ya on that one JC...Guy played well defensively. It's not all about the goals. You really can't compare Ruid, Marchant, Syro and St. Pierre to Guy because they play different positions.

I must remake a comment that has been made several times in the past....Chicagos arena is awesome. I love the building and their fans were very friendly. I believe they actually lost money each game they hosted, but at least game 5 appeared to have more fans then the first two games did. Nice picture of some of the Komets fans there in the slide show...I saw myself there and that was cool. I smell bacon....bacon cheesburger pizza, blt's extra mayo, and of course bacon and eggs on Friday and Sunday this week. LETS GO KOMETS!

Brad Lyons

Unfortunately, there won't be a big snake on the side of that bacon :-)

Congrats to Guy on Defenseman of the year! Well deserved indeed.

Also Justin can you confirm the 8:15 pm game start on Sat. May 5th?

You're giving off the impression that you were at every game from the way you're talking but Ben Smith had the blog for the away games except for game #3...Were you really not there and it was Ben or what?

Justin Cohn

Ben was at Games 4 and 5. I watched those two on B2, as I had a newborn at home I had to tend to. But I also had diuscussions with Ben and he stated that Guy was the best player in the series. I will be at all games in the next series.

Justin Cohn

Yes, the 8:15 time is correct. There is an event at the Coliseum that afternoon and they need the extra time to set up.

The Vera Bradley Outlet sale is why the Komets are being pushed back to 8:15, are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?

My bad, gotta be Larry the Cable Guy. I see he's preforming the night before.
