The Komets have 23-year-old center Scott Seney in on a tryout. He is 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, and he's played 11 games this season with Arizona of the Central Hockey League, tallying three goals and four points. He's also played two games with Phoenix of the ECHL in this, his rookie season.
Pascal Morency was put on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, but that's not why he wasn't playing last weekend. The Komets are sticking to the broken skates story. They put him on IR retroactively because he does have a shoulder injury -- remember, he separated it last month -- and it saves them some roster space. But that's not why he wasn't playing.

By the way, I guess Seney was in camps with the San Jose Sharks and with Worcester. Sorry it took me a bit to find out who he was. There was a lot going on last weekend.

Thank you Justin for finding out who the new player is, much appreciated!

Does anybody have a good idea for a poll question for Komets Korner? I'm stumped.

How about....What Komet will finish the year with the most points? A) J.C. Ruid, B) Bruce Richardson, C)Mario Larocque, or D) Guy Dupuis. Pretty general question but since you have nothing at least thats something! Also, do you know anything else about Seney? He is a big kid. Does he play phyiscal at all?

He better be a Teddy Bear or the Frankes lied again in reverse this time. They said they were not interested in bringing in any tough guys that they were happy with the team they have...

Not bad JC. Actually, I don't know much. I was in a rush to get down to Indy when I talked to David Franke about him. Look of the stats, probably a skill guy? But no guarantees.

How about: Who do you think is the most over-achieving Komet this year? and Who do you think is the most disappointing? I'll let you pick the players, or we can do a poll to pick the selections to poll to pick our picks..... great, now I'm confused!

That might be hard to do on a poll. Especially with a first place team? lol.

So whats the real deal with Pascal?
Posted by: JungleMonkey | December 19, 2006 at 10:21 AM
I figured that there was something wrong with Pascal. The skates thing just didn't make any sense. Why are they so shady when it comes to injury's?
Posted by: Junior | December 19, 2006 at 11:14 AM
OK, once again, the skate thing, in my opinion, is legit. But, so they could get Honkanen into the lineup and so they could save some salary cap space, they put Morency on IR because he does have a shoulder injury. Is it shady? Maybe a touch, but everybody does it.
Posted by: Justin Cohn | December 19, 2006 at 12:29 PM
I just wasn't sure on Morency to begin with. He seems to have taken a step back since the start of the season and I know that last year he played something like 18 games because of injury's. When I say shady I wonder how serious and even happy they are with Pascal. No one seems to have the same fire that they did at the start of the year.

How about who in the lead is the most hated enemy of the Komets now that Duhart is gone? A. Chaz Johnson B. Big Snake C. Littlejohn
D. Tyler Willis ( thought I like his ice play) E.other F. Other....sorry I am drawing a blank at the moment. I think there is a Hollis who is a butthead and a few others we always see in the box when there in Fort Wayne...but again I am tired. Later.

That should have been league, see I told you I was tired.

The skate-gate is legit. After Pascal's early shift, he came back on the ice during a whistle and did a couple swirls near the bench at the red line, looking down at his skates the whole time, then never came back.

I'm not sure that anyone is unhappy with Pascal. I mean, he did follow his coach here, right?
Of course, he's also my favorite Komet and I am biased.
