It's likely that Komets defenseman Kevin Hansen, out since Dec. 8 with a concussion, will be in the lineup tonight.
I've heard mixed statements on whether or not Kalamazoo coach Mark Reeds, who missed his team's game Friday for personal reasons, will be back behind the bench tonight at Memorial Coliseum. If he's not, general manager Paul Pickard will coach the defending Colonial Cup champions.
- A column from the Fayetteville Observer on the decrease in toughness in the Southern Professional Hockey League can be read by clicking here. I guess it's going on everywhere.
- Komets general manager David Franke attended the college hockey game at the Coliseum this afternoon, which saw third-ranked Notre Dame defeat Northern Michigan 4-3. He was hoping to find some players to bring in down the line. As for the game, it was exciting, well played and, best of all, well officiated. Mark Wilkins, who used to call Komets games in the International Hockey League, was the referee. Wish we could get him in the UHL.
- I reported several weeks back that Flint Generals star Tony Tuzzolino might leave the team to play in Europe. According to The Flint Journal, he hasn't yet decided on that, so he's still with the Generals. His brother, Nick, left the Komets last week to return to juniors.
