Honkanen in, along with a fracas

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Defenseman Jani Honkanen is on the ice during warm-ups, so it looks like he'll be playing after sitting for a couple weeks.

There are already a lot of Fort Wayne fans up here at Wings Stadium, so it should be a nice atmosphere.

Wings officials, including their equipment manager, are furious about a story that circulated from another media outlet saying that Wings goalie Tom Askey's pads were illegal and he had to wear the backup's in the Komets' 2-1 victory Friday. The Wings said it's untrue; a measurement took place and they were deemed legal.

I only bring it up because people keep yelling at me. Ah, mistaken identity not so nice.

The referee tonight is Neil Christopher.

I missed the early part of the broadcast. Any reason for the Morency scratch or is it coaches decision?
