ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Komets lead it 1-0 after one period. Daniel Goneau, showing some of the skill that got him to the NHL, netted a 45-foot wrist shot while the teams were playing 4-on-4, to put the Komets ahead. It was a nasty shot and really caught goalie Frederic Cloutier off guard.
The best player on the ice right now: Komets goaltender Kevin St. Pierre, who has 17 saves.
The Komets killed off four power plays and I thought they looked pretty sharp in that department.
Something that really stands out about Fort Wayne right now is they're fun to watch. They use a lot of long, adventuresome passes, and they really like to go after things with their transition game.
The Komets had one really bad moment, a late-period penalty for having too many men on the ice. I'm not sure, they still may have six out there. This is something that drives coach Pat Bingham crazy, so he must be yelling about that right now.

This game sounds pretty boring on the raido and B2 is not working. Sounds like neither team is really trying to take the body...

How can you tell with Chaser calling the game...that is not negative....but he talks so fast and only tells us who has the puck usually. I bet it is more physical than we can see....which we can't at all...

Not a ton of hitting, but more than we're used to. It's really fast paced; exciting, i think.

Morcey (SP) must go with the Snake and establish his toughness

I'd love to see that too David, but I think Morency is handling this correctly. Knowing Big Snake, if Morency can get into his head Big Snake will be racking up unneccessary penalties soon or get himself kicked out. But if needed, go Pascal go!

I remember that quote from Martinson, JM! Martinson said he was going to feild a tougher team than last year too, but Komets seem to be the only team able to put any good hits out there!
