Well the melting snow and heavy rains flooded numerous Fort Wayne streets and caused worry for numerous homeowners. The flooding also caused some problems for Harrison Square, as the construction site turned into Lake Harrison, or some would say, Lake Boondoggle recently.
Fortunately, the flooding problems only involve delays and not any serious concerns. Greg Leatherman, Fort Wayne executive director of redevelopment, said a construction update meeting Thursday revealed the rains have slowed progress this week.
“We just have to wait for water to leave the site,” he said.
Contractors were to be laying concrete throughout the winter, but that can’t be done when the site is saturated. Leatherman said he didn’t believe the delays would significantly change the project’s schedule.
