I’m going to give this blogging thing another try, and Thursday’s redevelopment commission meeting gives me ample information to include online.
For starters, in the tax abatement filing for The Harrison, the condominium/retail building, the developer provides a list of potential retail tenants for the building. Those include a wine shop, coffee shop, gift shop, drug store and two restaurants.
According to the developer, these businesses would create about 125 jobs with an estimated annual payroll of $1.55 million. This means an average salary of $12,407, but it is slightly higher for those people not working at the restaurants.
The application listed Champs as one of the restaurants, but city officials said that was only a possibility and nothing had yet been signed.
While the commission gave its approval to the abatement, it must still get the blessing of the City Council.
More to come (hopefully) later.
