A ruling

Doug Dascenzo did some research and said the incorrect call was made on Moises Sierra’s home run in the seventh inning of Friday’s 9-1 loss. Wizard right fielder Shane Buschini flipped over the short wall while trying to track down the fly. He caught the ball, but the umps ruled that because he left the field of play, it was a homer.

“It’s 99 percent in the rule book, it says a legal catch made on the playing surface is an out whether or not the guy falls over the fence or not,” Dascenzo said. “… We talked with the umpires and clarified that up. They will talk to some people. It should have been called an out.”
