Internet message board chatter linked Mike Brey to the Indiana job this morning, and while we realize it is April Fools Day, the chance of this happening isn't out of the realm of reality (like, say, Dane Fife or Roy Williams to IU), so we made some calls.
Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations John Heisler said Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White has not been contacted by anyone, including IU athletic director Rick Greenspan, about Brey and the Hoosiers job.
We've also left a message for Brey, so stay tuned.
And, in other Big East news, Louisville's Derrick Caracter has not surprisingly decided to leave Louisville and declare for the NBA Draft.

Golden Domer and felixchix should shut the hell up! Coach Brey has done nothing but great things for ND basketball, if any coach should be getting run out of town, it should be "cheatin" Charlie Weis. 3 and 9 is a absolutely horrible record, especially considering the "top 10" recruiting classes "cheater" has recruited. With the type of talent the basketball team has, to be 25-8 is a very good accomplishment. SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

It just proves that Weis is not a good football coach unless he is cheating or has a great QB (Brady, Simms, Quinn).

Agree with you, domerlover88. Weis gets top ten recruits, and yet the team last year was horrible. Can't wait to see what happens this year. Could it get any worse?
Brey is a great coach; look at how Harangody's year has turned out being named to numerous All-American teams. Brey took the Irish to back-to-back NCAA tournaments. Give the guy a break.

Brey loses a lot of close games because of his stall ball.
He also loses to teams that he has no business losing to - like Winthrop, Georgia Tech, and Baylor.
Mike Brey ruined Chris Thomas. The reason he can't get talent is the recruits see what he did with the talent that he inherited.
Bring back Doherty!

Brey really had nothing to do with Luker Harangody's progress. And, Sean Kearney is as much of a do nothing coach as I can think of. No one really works with the big men and causes them to improve as the year
s go on. It is strictly the individual player's desire to improve that has caused it. Luke is self made. Did Chris Thomas improve? How about Torin Francis? The answers to both are "no".
