Former Notre Dame All-American Adrian Dantley was selected to be inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
The two-time All-American and 1976 Player of the Year had been a finalist six other times before being selected this year in San Antonio. He'll join a class that includes Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Pat Riley, Dick Vitale, Detroit Pistons owner Bill Davidson and Cathy Rush. Rush is having a movie made about her teams at Immaculata College, which helped spark modern women's college basketball.
Dantley will be enshrined in Springfield, Mass., during the Sept. 4-6 induction ceremony. Dantley is second on Notre Dame's all-time scoring list with 2,223 points and is the last Irish player to average more than 10 rebounds a game in back-to-back seasons (a record that could fall next year because of Luke Harangody).

AD deserves the Hall of Fame. He is also one of my all-time favorite Notre Dame players.
