Allen The All-American

Notre Dame senior women's basketball guard Charel Allen was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday, the eighth Irish player to pick up the honor.
Allen averaged 15.1 points for Notre Dame this season and heads to Tampa this week as part of the WNBA scouting combine. The WNBA Draft is held the day after the women's championship game in Tampa.

Charel Allen is someone we should all be proud of. She did not fizzle out (like some major stars of ND women's basketball have in their senior seasons) by her senior season. She saved her best for last. Muffet tends to rely too much on a star by the time they are seniors. But, Charel came through.
