If the NCAA Selection Committee has a wicked sense of humor (or maybe, some luck), Notre Dame will play Siena in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Why? Well, Saints head coach Fran McCaffery is a former Notre Dame assistant coach. And his wife, Margaret, is a former Irish women's basketball player and assistant coach (Hooray, storyline!). And as the excellent New York Times writer Pete Thamel explained in today's paper, she's not exactly quiet on the sidelines. Actually, she was ejected from a game against Hofstra a couple years back and has been animated in the press room this year.
Fun stuff.
