Notes From Notre Dame Pro Day

No, we didn't fly back to South Bend for Notre Dame's Pro Day, but we did receive notes on what happened thanks to pool reporter Tom Coyne.
Here's what stood out:

  • 31 scouts from 23 teams showed up.
  • Linebacker Joe Brockington's stats: 40-yard dash -- 4.89 seconds; Vertical leap -- 28.5 inches; 3-cone drill -- 7.25 seconds.
  • Tight end John Carlson: Bench press -- 21 reps; Vertical jump -- 35.5 inches (leaped 30.5 at the Combine); 40-yard dash -- 4.67 and 4.72 seconds.
  • J.J. Jansen: 40-yard dash -- 4.85 and 4.87 seconds; Vertical jump -- 32.5 inches.
  • Trevor Laws: Didn't do any timed drills.
  • Defensive end Dwight Stephenson Jr.: 40-yard dash -- 4.86 and 4.87 seconds; Vertical leap -- 34.5 inches; 3-cone time -- 7.46 seconds.
  • Travis Thomas: Vertical leap -- 36.5 inches.
  • John Sullivan: Didn't do timed drills.
  • Tom Zbikowski: 3-cone drill -- 6.83 seconds.
  • Half the returning players showed up to see the Pro Day.
