At this point, none of this should be shocking.
Sophomore forward Luke Harangody picked up Big East Player of the Week honors for the third time this season after a 40-point performance at Louisville and scoring 24 against DePaul on Sunday in Rosemont, Ill. He averaged 32 points and 10.5 rebounds for Notre Dame in those two games.
Notre Dame players have won the award five times this year (Harangody thrice, Kyle McAlarney twice).
Harangody is also a nominee for National Player of the Year, at least that's what it says on the ballot we received Monday from the USBWA.
The other finalists:
D.J. Augustin, Texas; Michael Beasley, Kansas State; Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis; Shan Foster, Vanderbilt; Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina; Luke Harangody, Notre Dame; Robbie Hummel, Purdue; Kevin Love, UCLA; A.J. Price, Connecticut, D.J. White, Indiana.
