Harangody Jumps To No. 3, The Latest Rivals Raknings
It's gonna be tough for Luke Harangody to move from his No. 3 Rivals.com rating among power forwards. Why? Because the top two -- North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough and Kansas State's Michael Beasley -- are the two frontrunners for National Player of the Year. Harangody, though, moved up from No. 5 the last time we looked in on the Rivals rankings.
So, sorry Gody.
As for those rankings:
Head Coach: No. 1 Roy Williams, No. 18 Mike Brey. Brey was at No. 13 the last time we checked in, but he is staying with the status quo.
Power forward: No. 1 Beasley; No. 3 Harangody. Harangody's got a moving up arrow, but it's unlikely he'll jump above Beasley or Hansbrough unless he plays -- and gets the best of -- one of them in the tournament.
Shooting guard: No. 1 Eric Gordon, Indiana. Kyle McAlarney was on this list during the last rankings. He's now disappeared.
We're actually kind of surprised point guard Tory Jackson hasn't emerged on the list, but point guards are pretty good around the country this year. We wouldn't be shocked to see him on the list by the season's end, though.

Harangody already dominated Beasley once this year -- I don't understand why he would have to do it again to be ranked above him. Pro prospect? Sure, Beasley's probably better, but in the college game, Harangody already showed who was better -- and it wasn't close.
