Driving in from Chicago, we stopped at the Knute Rockne Travel Plaza and discovered a bunch of Tennessee fans. This is how it was driving to the game and inside the arena it was much of the same. Heck, the Vols were cheered during introductions.
This is life when you're a Rockstar team, much like Connecticut was during the Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Diana Taurasi years.
Anyway, we're here getting ready for the Connecticut-Notre Dame men's tip and just wanted to mention this. We'll be back during the game, but a couple quick thoughts on the Huskies.
- Hasheem Thabeet is very, very tall. Luke Harangody might have some trouble with the 7-foot-3 Tanzanian.
- Less than seven minutes before the game's start and the arena is maybe three-quarters full. Considering the sellout earlier in the day, it'll be interesting what Mike Brey's reaction is if this place isn't full.
