ND-Michigan At The Half

Cathy Richardson, a Chicago-based singer, just belted out the Notre Dame-based song "Here Come The Irish" as part of the halftime show here -- better than your normal halftimes at the Joyce Center consisting of odd obstacle courses, magicians or hamster races.
She and the crowd got pretty into it, clapping along and giving her a semi-standing ovation when she was done.

As for the game, Notre Dame is up on Michigan, 33-18, led by 11 points from Charel Allen. The Wolverines had only four players score and two of them -- Janelle Cooper with eight and Krista Phillips with seven -- accounted for 15 of the 18 first-half points.
About the only thing Muffet McGraw could complain about was a bad Melissa Lechlitner foul with less than four seconds left in the half at about halfcourt that let Michigan shoot two free throws.
Other than that, a pretty dominant performance.
