Irish goin' Old School

Notre Dame and Adidas will honor the 30th anniversary of the 1977 National Championship team by wearing the authentic green jerseys and gold pants for the USC game on October 20th, head coach Charlie Weis announced Friday. The Throwback uniforms will be designed to replicate those worn by the ยน77 team.
We here at Insights would like to know your favorite memory and player from that team. Send us your thoughts.

It has to be old number 55 Bobby Golic or Number 40 Terry Uric on the cover of SI after trouncing Texas in the Cotton Bowl! What a team and what year. Beating out The Bear and Bama for the National Championship!

For me, it has to be Joe Montana. I have to admit though, I feel we are tempting fate when we wear those Green Jerseys. It's like, teams have enough motivation playing our Irish, why give them something else to feast on, but after a few beers, I'm screaming "That's right, bring it on!!!!". Go Irish

As a child, I remember being enamored with ND players that made the impossible seem routine. Kris Haines, Kent McAfee, and Ross Browner. Not to mention a great stable of running backs!
