It was a busy day for Notre Dame.
In addition to John Goodman's commitment, the Irish picked up a verbal pledge from center Braxston Cave from Penn High School in Mishawaka.
"Once I got the offer from Notre Dame and knew it was my dream to play there, after I got that opportunity, it was a no-brainer," Cave said. "It was where I wanted to be and the school I wanted to play for."
The 6-foot-4, 294-pound junior selected Notre dame over Michigan, Purdue, Indiana, Iowa and Florida, although he didn't have offers from all the schools he named.
