Brady Quinn...Video Game Star

From the "OK, this is how it starts department," former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn will chronicle his life from now until the NFL Draft in April providing weekly updates with Microsoft's XBox. Supposedly, he'll also play some regular folks in some XBox games. No word from his teammates how good he is, although we remember reading a report over the summer that former teammate Jeff Samardzija wasn't very good at NCAA Football.

Quinn says he's "humbled" by the experience, but don't you get the feeling some 12-year-old punk is going to beat him by around 50 points because he's got nothing else to do and Quinn, well, he's gotta make some millions?

Also, we know that Ashley McConnell rarely loses at NCAA -- and beats his best friend, Chase Anastasio, fairly regularly. Sophomore receiver David Grimes also plays a lot -- generally splitting the series with his brother, Carl.

We caught Quinn on "Rome Is Burning," as well. The highlights:

  • Going first in the NFL Draft is "everything" to him.
  • On potentially going to Cleveland: "It'd be a great opportunity," and he mentioned he grew up a fan. That must have been a painful, painful existence as the Browns are one the teams of heartbreak in sports.
  • The LSU loss still motivates him "every day."
