We're back with the last of our quarterfinal matchups between No. 15 Virginia Tech and No. 7 Wisconsin at the Rubber Bowl in Akron, Ohio.
This game turned out to be the least exciting of all the quarterfinals. Virginia Tech quarterback Sean Glennon was almost unstoppable as he led the Hokies to a 30-0 rout over Wisconsin, elmininating the last of the three Big Ten teams from the field.
Glennon completed 17 of 20 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns, while Virginia Tech's defense held the Badgers to 149 yards of total offense, 16 yards rushing and forced a turnover.
The Hokies' defense was led by senior defensive end Noland Burchette, who had three tackles for loss and two sacks.
Virginia Tech moves on to face No. 6 Louisville in one semifinal while No. 8 Boise State and No. 5 USC play in the other one. So for the record in our virtual BCS playoff -- the premise can be read here -- there is one ACC school, one Pac-10 school, one Big East school and Boise State from the outside-the-BCS-WAC remaining.
