Our last first-round game is between No. 15 Virginia Tech and No. 2 Florida. For those unfamiliar with what we are doing, take a look at the premise of our plan.
The last of these games also provided the biggest shock. Virginia Tech scored 33 straight points to knock off the second-seeded Gators 40-14, mostly behind the arm of quarterback Sean Glennon and the foot of kicker Brandon Pace.
Glennon completed 9 of 21 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns while Pace kicked four field goals, including a 51-yarder to give the Hokies the upset.
Florida quarterback Chris Leak completed 13 of 28 passes for 221 yards and two interceptions.
No. 15 Virginia Tech moves on to play No. 7 Wisconsin in the last of our quarterfinals.
So the quarterfinals look like this: No. 1 Ohio State vs. No. 8 Boise State; No. 13 West Virginia vs. No. 5 USC; No. 6 Louisville vs. No. 3 Michigan; and No. 7 Wisconsin vs. No. 15 Virginia Tech.
Quarterfinals begin tomorrow.
