A hockey game at Wrigley? Save me a seat on that bus! How cool will that be? Or maybe the better question is how COLD will that be... I'm a total wuss when it comes to cold weather but for a chance to see a game at Wrigley I'd tough it out.

Geronimo

5MM...ever been to a Bears game?:)

Harbz

I know that Lawson and KSP were both big goalies...I guess I was just trying to make the point that in some cases, being a larger goalkeeper - taking up more area of the net - would help keep the goals against down. It's hard to say who the better goalie was between the two.

As far as the equipment goes...it needs to be downsized in my opinion. It's absolutely monsterous. I'd really like to see how good some of these goalies are with downsized equipment. I mean, heck, look at how big Reiter's pads are in comparison to how big he actually is...they're huge. Martin Brodeur has shown that goalies can still stop a lot of rubber with smaller equipment...and he's a 4x Vezina Trophy winner.

Cat...I'm with you on the blowout issue. Some of my friends think I'm crazy when I tell them that I can absolutely love a 1-0 game. But then again, I like to see a good old-fashioned spanking too sometimes.

Cat Eyes

Harbz...sometimes some teams just need to be reminded who the boss is...LOL!! Always fun as long as it is us doing the reminding.

Karla Stranger

The Bears....OMG I wanna hurl....AGAIN

Karla Stranger

Next someone will mention the..,Cubs,White Sox and Bulls. Just shoot me now.

Harbz

So...Karla...I get a feeling that you are not from Chicago... :)

Karla Stranger

Uhhhhhhhhhh.....nope. BUT....I do follow the Sox somewhat....only for 1 player...the catcher....cant spell his last name. He used to play for the Wizards. I am a diehard Reds fan, even if they do suck. Football...Colts....basketball....Celtics.Have been since the Larry Bird days. I live for hockey and football. The others only during the finals...otherwise I sleep through baseball, basketball, golf and tennis...wayyyyyy too boring for me.

Cat Eyes

Poor Karla...need some Pepto??? Hey, I'm not from Chi-town either, but I like the Cubbies myself...not a Bears fan or a Blackhawks fan, but I can't slam someone else's team too badly...except for the Red Wings, 'cause I really dislike them...but even then, I'll be pretty nice about it! :) But this is coming from someone who has no true NHL team of her own to root for so she roots for the team her 7 year old son picked because they are the Sharks, his favorite animal...so take that for what it is worth...LOL!! Wish Indiana had their own NHL team so I could have some loyalty to an NHL team! Am I crazy, or was there a minor league hockey team in Cleveland OH called the Lumberjacks a while back??

Karla Stranger

Yep...you are correct. There is a team called the Lumberjacks and they are in Cleveland. Once in Muskegon. Muskegon at one time were the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Im not a Sharks fan but since Jeremy Roenick plays for them, I follow them. I am a HUGE JR fan. Now that they have Blake makes it more interesting.

FiveMinuteMajor

Nope, never been to a Bears game. I'm a Colts fan from even before they were good... still have nightmares about Jeff George! Eek! Cubs fan too, ever since I was old enough to know what a baseball was. Don't like basketball, don't follow any particular NHL team- but I do find myself keeping track of the Blackhawks for no good reason other than they're the team I see the most on TV.

As far as blowout games go, I love them as long as we're the ones doing the blowing out! Not so much fun if it's the other way around. The close games make me nervous!

Cat Eyes

Jeff George...OMG!!!

Thought I had successfully repressed that memory!!

Cat Eyes

BTW, Karla...the Lumberjacks are gone...left when the IHL folded several years ago. Now there is an AHL team there called the Lake Erie Monsters. I'll let ya know how they are later on this season...I'll be seeing a game there, hopefully!! We go to Cleveland quite a bit, since my family lives there, so I'll have to make a trip there during a weekend when they have a home game. I hope they aren't all sellouts!

Hey, Deuce...got my computer working again...thanks for the help!! You're a genius! Or I'm so not, one of the two...hmmmm...

Karla Stranger

Jeff George....*puts gun to head and fires* flippin whiner.

Geronimo

5MM... just trying to give you a mental picture of how COLD it can be. If it snows like the Buffalo game, that'll really slow things down (and you can freeze longer). One bus for Blackhawks fans and another for Red Wings fans. Could even break out into a decent snowball fight:] Just have to dress for the occasion - if it pans out.

Cat Eyes

Shudders...my personal version of hell...a bus filled with Red Wings fans on a 3 hour trip to Chicago...especially the trip home if the Wings win...yikes!! :) Put me on the Blackhawks bus, I beg of you...ha ha!!

Bubb Rubb

I'll take you any day in a snowball fight Geronimo!! You are no contest for Bubb Rubb.

Cat Eyes

Uh-oh...Geronimo, the gauntlet has been thrown...ya better do somethin' about this one...LOL! Is this one of your teammates harrassing ya??

Katla Stranger

Crap! Although not a fan of either team....I'd go just to say I was and besides its hockey. Wouldnt care if it was the Maple Leafs and Blackhawks, Id still go.

Would have been nice if it were Blackhawks vs. Ducks though. LOL.

Harbz

All those little Anaheim Duckies would freeze if they played in an outdoor game in a cold weather environment. haha! It's gotta be rough when the average high temperature in the California winter is a frigid 65-degrees! :)

Cat Eyes

Harbz...I guess my Sharks would be in the same boat then too, wouldn't they? I'll just have to fly to Cali to see them in the Shark Tank someday...

FiveMinuteMajor

Put me on the Blackhawks bus too. I'll be the one in so many layers I look like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow girl... Give me a few dozen of those hand warmer packets hunters use and I might be OK. The cold is the #2 reason I've never been to a Bears game, the Colts fan thing is #1. Sorry about bringing up Jeff George, didn't mean to give anyone nightmares! :}

Wendy

Blackhawks... Ducks... Doesn't matter. They're all Canadians anyway, right? :D Canada is such a funny country. Population-wise, it always looked to me like they were huddled around the border, peering down at our warmer climate in envy.

Karla Stranger

HEY! Ducks do great on ice. VERY funny Harbz.

Cat Eyes

FiveMinuteMajor...that's ok...I'll try to re-repress...I'm pretty good at that! :) He was horrible wasn't he? Love Manning, though...he's been our saving grace...better get off the football before I get yelled at by someone!! LOL!

I know Sharks, upper case, do well on ice...but not sharks, lower case...

mightbite

Mlb.=tigers/NHL=Flames/NFL=Colts/nba=nobody.

mightbite

I have a Sharks game-worn Shawn Cronin jersey=acquired from him.

Cat Eyes

OK...Mightbite...this is gonna sound weird, don't take it the wrong way, but I would so love to see your closet...it must be so cool!! How many jerseys do you have??? And how do you get them all? How'd ya get the Sharks one from Cronin...did ya take it from him in a fight? LOL!! "The goalie" would be so jealous of you!!

Cat Eyes

I am so bummed now...I just found out my favorite Port Huron enemy is not coming back this season..."Beauty School Dropout" Donnie Margettie has joined the ranks of the other hockey players who have become firefighters after they hang up the skates...see this article...

http://www.oaoa.com/news/odessa_18669___article.html/hockey_department.html

Hope the link works...I've never posted one on here before and I'm not very good at this sort of thing...

Well, crap...now who do I throw pacifiers at when I sit behind the visitors bench, Deuce??? (Just kidding...I never really threw anything, but I wanted to...he was SUCH a crybaby!!) I'll have to pick another enemy now, darnit!

mightbite

I got my 3 Cronin jerseys for 400 dollars from him while he played here=Sharks-flyers-Jets.I think it was 400.

mightbite

Cats Eyes-first you lock Durdin in a cage & let him escape-then stalk Guy-then you want to see my closet=now thats spookey.

Cat Eyes

Mightbite...very funny! I told ya not to take it the wrong way, ya goof!! No stalking here...I'm afraid of you! You might sic your doggie on me! And I'm FAR too hung over today to run away, so I'd get chomped on...you just sound like you have an awesome jersey collection, is all I meant. But it did sound weird the way I worded it...not what I meant!!

mightbite

All is good-CatEyes/I sell about 5to7 hockey games a season if you are interested=great seats for you and the "goalie".

Cat Eyes

Cool...let me know when you're doing that in the season. We go to a ton, and we like good seats! Deuce from this blog has spoiled us on sitting in the better seats...we used to sit in the cheap seats, but now we like to sit lower so we can be right there...champagne taste on a 7 Up budget for sure...thanks Deuce!! LOL! Ohhh, should not have mentioned champagne...my head is still killing me....I'll probably go to bed before "the goalie" tonight! :)
