Cat:

I was going to school at the University of Michigan in Flint before I moved back to the Fort a few months ago. I moved back just in time for the playoffs and the Cup win.

READ! http://www.vindy.com/news/2008/jun/06/steelhounds-owner-mulls-his-next-move/

Why is it that Youngstown only thinks the IHL will bring is fighting. I think the the town of Youngstown would love the IHL product. Maybe it is one of those things that you just have to see to believe. I do think the cost of traveling is going to play an important role with respect to the IHL growing.

Josh F...thanks! too far for me to go, but thanks for responding! i'm hoping ipfw gets it back on its schedule soon.

ok, i am a newbie, but why does the steelhounds dude say the echl is "more prestigious" than the ihl? just because it is a bigger league?

and, for the record, i like the fighting in the ihl...not to the point where they forget to play a hockey game or anything, but it adds to the fun!!

Karla Stranger, How long does it take you to pee?? Also, when I hit the road tip I stop to pee and eat at the same time.

Shawn

The fighting comment is not all that accurate. From what we witnessed last season, there is a good deal of fighting during the early part of the season as players try to establish themselves. After that they get tired of fighting the same players all the time, and by the latter 25% of the season fighting is almost non-existent.

Cat Eyes

topshelf...do you pee in the kitchen or eat in the bathroom?? lol just kidding!!

Karla Stranger

topshelf: Since I dont smoke in the vehicle and you cant smoke in the bathrooms, after I pee I have a cig. So a rest stop takes 10-15 minutes. Same goes in MOST restaurants....NO SMOKING...so after I eat I stand outside the vehicle and have a cig. before getting on our way. Usually stop every 2 hours.

7 hours to Youngstown, are you nuts??? Having driven alot over the years, I figure that you can do 70 miles every hour and with Youngstown being 266 miles away, it figures to 3 hours 45 minutes with no stopping so throw in a 15 minute rest stop and you are at 4 hours, tops...

Youngstown really isn't a long trip from FW (5 hr max) however, for the other IHL teams it's going to be like going to Bloomington. In the perfect world the New I long term goal is to have a few teams both in Illinois and Ohio. You gota start somewhere.

greatwhitenorth

i once drove from hamilton, ontario to billings, montana;don't remember how long it took but it was a long time.i spoke with an elderly man at germanfest yesterday,he didn't know kevin kaminski either.

Bruiser

I didn't actually mean for you not to post, Chuckit. I just can't stand the people who IMPLY they know something the rest of us don't, and then don't tell us.

And nothing the Frankes have said mentioned Youngstown, so no I don't think reading between the lines is an option here. It's more like wishful thinking.

And scoops, RELAX.

chuckitt

i dont imply anything on here except to back up things we have been told by people inthe know. and i do know lots more than some of you and not as much as others. i do have sourses and contacts and some of it is not to be put out as common knowledge. like i said you have to read between the lines sometimes. dont you think justin and blake know some things that they cant tell you? but they sure can tease us with some stuff.. im no different..and how does a new blogger comeon here and try to stir things up? unless youre just using a new name.. i wouldnt be telling scoops what to do cause unlike me, he'll eat you alive!!!!! lol

"a “clutch and grab” league, should be avoided. Hockey fans would rather be sold insurance three nights a week than be tortured this way."

How many games do you think Chris Travers attended?

WOW...another direct hit to the IHL...ouch! That one was particularly nasty, I thought...clutch and grab referring to the fact that we are trying to hold onto and attract teams, I presume? Well, duh! Of course we are...don't all leagues? Especially when they are fairly new? Jeez...what did we do to this publication to raise their ire? Does everyone outside the IHL hate the IHL? Really? Am I that naive?? lol
