Hoss

Great story on Matt. I am happy to see his hard work paying off. Let's keep the winning going tonight going into a big two game set with K-Zoo!

Andy

So did Sim's bring in Reynolds to be one of our tough guys, not knowing Matt was a better player.

mightbite

How did Reynolds do in his fight with mallette ?

wingmnn

Looks like Bloomington just got worse because Ftorek went to Hungary. http://www.ihl-hockey.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=860&Itemid=2

Jerad Shaw

WOW. That hurts the PT big time! Looks like Ewasko is going to have to be their go to offensive weapon!

JW

Justin, what is the format for the IHL playoffs???
just curious

FiveMinuteMajor

Ewasko the PT's big offensive weapon? I just about spit coffee all over my monitor! Seriously though, that stinks for Bloomington. I hate to see guys jump ship in the middle of a season like that.

Jerad Shaw

KO LEGUALT!!!!

Rich

Jerad
Will you be in the house on Saturday & Sunday?
I think High Stick Ed Campbell will be looking for you. Or should I say your girlfriend :)

Sounds like the fight was a toss up according to Bob Chase

kyle hunt

The Friday night jinx?

Jerad Shaw

I might be there Sunday but not sure. Have to go see P.S. I Love You tomorrow night. Don't ask. The fight was a toss up, but they both threw rights and knocked each other down. Muskegon's guy was woozy and had to be helped off the ice. Legualt was bloody, but has come back to the game. Reiter on the third goal was 15 feet out from his net and gave up a rebound for a wide open net. Appears to just be one of those games for the Komets. Not really getting any bounces.

kyle hunt

Shaw, you watching on B2?

Jerad Shaw

yes sir...

kyle hunt

Finally a goal, nobody ( even Reiter ) wants to be in front of the net!!!!

Jerad Shaw

PP GOAL DROUIN!!

Jerad Shaw

Oh they gave it to Woodsy

kyle hunt

Better get in their heads and the front of the goal during this third period! GO K's......Subnote, Savage, on his blog, is whining about their game, ha!

Jerad Shaw

Can you put up a link to Savage's blog? I'm lazy and don't want to search for it!!

kyle hunt

Its right above our posts under Kohn's suggested hockey reading, titled Savage Thoughts.

kyle hunt

Its on the left side of this page.......Sorry.

kyle hunt

Crap!

Wingmnn

Looks like Rohr got suspended. Does anyone know for how long?

kyle hunt

Durdin turns the puck over a....lot.

Jerad Shaw

1 game

Wingmnn

Jerad, are you going Sat or Sun and if so are you going to be in lower 215?

kyle hunt

Just one game, this game? Trying to keep him safe I guess.

Wingmnn

Was that posted on the IHL website?

New Komet Fan

I have a question for all of you?... I have been paying attention to the goalies around the league and is just me or does Reiter's reaction time really slow? It seems like he misses alot of saves on the glove side, just kinda like he's a step slow. Also, it seems like when he gets down on the ice to make a save and the puck gets loose he just lays there and doesn't show a sense of urgency to get back up and get back in position, again looks a step slow. Just curious, what do you guys think?

Jerad Shaw

I might go on Sunday, but I doubt I will be down that way. I'm just going to buy a 9 dollar ticket and move down if I do come.

Jerad Shaw

They said it on the B2 broadcast. I was listening to the Muskegon feed. I don't believe Ft Wayne has an announcer for B2.

kyle hunt

I have not noticed him being slow so much as he just won't stay in his hole and I didn't see the suspension notice on the IHL site.

chuckitt

hes not slow and he doesnt stay in his hole. he is an angle playing goalie and he will come out to cut it down, its his style so everybody needs to get used to it, it aint gonna change!!

New Komet Fan

Do you consider him being an angle playing goalie when goes behind the net to get the puck with 4 other players back there? I can't believe he does that.

William

Reiter is definitely not slow. He likes to play the puck and that is just his style. It seems to be the only thing people focus on whether the Komets are winning or losing games. Right now he is our #1 and only goalie. In my opinion, he has really picked up his game this past week and deserves a little respect.

New Komet Fan

Just so everyone knows, I'm not trying to rip on Kevin. I'm new to hockey and just had a question for you all.

kyle hunt

Thats absolutely his style, I just think its the wrong style for him unless he tweaks it to improve, so I'd say some change would help him and all of us getting over it wouldn't.

William

Asking him to change his style of play is easier said than done. Reiter has had the same style since Missouri and probably well before that. Him changing just isn't going to happen. So the alternative, Komets' fans getting over it, is how it is going to have to be.

Jerad Shaw

A neat stat I heard on the B2 Network. The number 1 and 2 goalies in regards to save percentage are Boucher and Reiter. His style does leave me on the edge of my seat at times, but so far he has gotten the job done fairly well.

lovelost

wow.

scoops

Grow up...geez.

We are on the final leg of a brutal stretch of 8 games in 11 days. Fatigue is going be an issue. If we can rally behind the guys and take care of business at home this weekend at go 6-2, that would be impressive no matter what league you are playing in.

Rich

Reiters style of play concerns me at times also, I think that is because for the past 5 or 6 years we have had goalies that are conservative and don’t handle the puck like Reiter does. As stated before that is his style of play and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

kyle hunt

Conservative is a good point, I like his style of play, maybe better than Boucher, tweaking how far he comes out from net is something he can work on and could help him to improve. Nobody should ever settle, and should always strive to be better, if you ask Mr. Reiter I'm sure he would tell you the same. Any fault he may have with his play is way overshadowed by his positives. Its just unsettling with a two on one breakaway that he's 15 feet out from the crease, leaves alot of open net.

mightbite

Legualt is stepping up !!! I still would like more fighters .It would be great to see the k-wings loose 2 this weekend.

ds214

I am hoping that Reiter skates up the ice and is part of a play sometime that would be the best... A highlight of this season. Go K's

Junior

HA! LOL ds, that's funny.

The only thing is he would get a pent. for leaving the crease. When he crosses his own blue line, he's free game.

Iceboi

A goalie is never free game, and I'm pretty sure they only get a penalty if they cross the red center line (otherwise a team would get a penatly everytime they pulled their goalie) In response to someones post earlier, coming way out of the net when there is a 2 on 1 helps a goalie to cut down the angle the attacking player has to shoot at.

LC

Justin, totally off the subject but you might want to go back and delete the last post of the previous blog, "video of the hit".

mightbite

I would like to see a few goalies get hit = more fights !!!

lovelost

I heard the Legault and Kovalcik fight might end up on ESPN.

Jerad Shaw

I wouldn't doubt it. It was a double knock out. Best ending to a fight I have seen in a long time!! The thing about cutting off angles, that only works when the puck is coming down the side. When the offense is coming straight down the middle, coming out isn't improving any angles IMO.
