Jerad Shaw

GOOAAALL Oh wait, I am the only one at home on the board right now :(

hockey mom

Not the only one, I have a hard justifying taking my kids when they have school in the morning so I am at home as well...

Jerad Shaw

Understandable. So far not missing much. Very little if no hitting.

Jerad Shaw

Legualt and Bertram have 2 great passes for assits tonight!

Justin Cohn

Five total hits in the first period. Do you believe that? Five. By the Flint counting methods that may be 15, but I'm not sure.

hockey mom

Usually I reserve the right not to criticize on the blogs, I am the positive one...that is the mother in me...but I have a comment about the scoop guys. I have tickets in the lower section and I pay darn good money for my season tickets (2 of those are my children), and so do most of the people in the lower sections. I bet I can count on 1 hand how many times they toss scoops towards us...most of the time they are trying to show us all how manly they are by throwing them towards section 600. Would it kill you to just toss a few more lower to us season ticket holders..you know the ones that come to all the games! My kids would really appreciate it!

hockey mom

Man I hate missing hat tricks! Great job Reynolds!

Jerad Shaw

Muskegon loves giving the Komets hat tricks. Thats the third one at home vs. them this season!

hockey mom

I know, I am really hating being at home tonight...I love watching us kick Muskegon's butt!

Justin Cohn

Yeah, and they never get one to the press box either.

Jerad Shaw

Ill be honest, I have caught 3 in the last 2 games I have been to. I give them to kids around me though.

hockey mom

touche

hockey mom

You must be one of the lucky ones...I am not expecting my kids to get one every time but they haven't even had a chance but maybe once this entire season. Maybe it's jsut my section?

Justin Cohn

Maybe that's why they ejected you.

hockey mom

Yeah, you are the scoop thief!

Jerad Shaw

I only catch what is coming my way. Then I play Santa Claus and hand them out to all the kiddies. Granite, I do have some long gangly arms so I can cover alot of ground. Then there was that one time, but the kid didn't break any bones so no lawsuit!!!

Justin Cohn

Jerad, that's your new nickname. Granite. lol.

Jerad Shaw

Most people just call me Brad Pitt, but a new nickname is okay I spose!!! :)

hockey mom

Maybe the scoop guys just like you!?!? Brad Pitt!

Jerad Shaw

Oh boy. Woodsy didn't waste anytime there. Is that Aquino??

hockey mom

All kidding aside, Justin how is Hansen?

Jerad Shaw

It doesn't look good. Thing is, they just showed the replay over and over again. I think Hanson lost his skates a bit before he got hit. Roar looked pretty worried when he was standing in the box. They are bringing out the strecher. With his history of head problems this isn't a good situation for Hanson.

David

What happen to Hansen? Was that the check from behind major?

Jerad Shaw

Yes it was. And a game Misconduct. Rohr from Muskegon hit him from behind sending him into the boards right in front of the Komets bench. He moved his legs immediately after the hit, but then didn't move until he was moved off the ice on a stretcher.

Jerad Shaw

The guy on B2 from Muskegon said that he did have neck pain, but he was concious when he left.

David

That is not good, we are already down in D-man. If he is out for a period of time we may have to bring somebody in

hockey mom

Sounds like he will be ok, saying no concussion but just a pain in the neck. However, with his history you never know??? I hope he is back soon!!!!!

Brandon

They didn't say no concussion, they said he was conscious. It's WAY too soon to know if he has a concussion yet or not. Seeing the hit i'm sure he does tho.

lovelost

you guys still not impresses with Marchant.

redline

Hockey Mom, where do you sit? I am not belssed with the cannon arm and cannot hit the 600 section. I have missed the last few games from being sick and work, but will be at both games this weekend. I try to find kids in the lower sections and hit the upper bowl as well. If I know where you sit I can try a little harder to get you a scoop or two.

Brandon

Amen on the Scoop Guys, they seem to like to throw as hard as they can instead of getting the season ticket holders down low. I know over in lower 213 we MIGHT get 1 scoop a weekend. The people in the front row is really screwed. Remember scoopers...putt for dough!

Hoss

Stop whineing Brandon! Try sitting up in 204 and not get a single promo or scoop! Tonight sec 215 won BK meals and some other promo. Spread the love out!!!

Back to the real stuff that matters, I hope Hanson is OK. Chase said he was responding but had a pain in the bottom of his head/top of his neck. I don't know how the guys went on to finish the game after that...

Justin Cohn

Boy, I wonder where these radio guys get their information, uncredited. Amazing.

Mark

I hope Hansen is ok, I agree with Hoss, I don't know how the team finished that game...boy..my prayers are out to Hansen and his gf/wife...taps stick on ice...

Justin Cohn

Fiancee, I believe.

topshelf

I dont think anyone in section 202 has been called for anything or ever get a scoop. My kids know to hike it to the side if they want to get one.

scoops

Slow news day I guess......

Thoughts and prayers are with Kevin Hanson and family for a speedy recovery. That hit looked and sounded awful.

tj

hey jerad....thanks for the scoop your g/f caught last week and handed back to our son

redline

Unbelievable how everyone thinks they should get a scoop every game. It's a big stadium and only 100 scoops thrown a night. Not everyone is going to get one. Over the three seasons now I have it heard it all about people not getting a scoop. As I stated to hockey mom in an earlier post, I don't have the cannon arm and do not even try to throw to the 600 level. I try for the lower level and the upper bowl. The first 4 rows behind the glass are difficult as are shots behind the net. Hard to get the right angle on it when you have to clear the glass and stop short or the net and do the same. Before I became a scoop guy and attended games I cannot recall a time where I complained that I wasn't getting enough promo items in my area or for myself. I personally look to throw the scoops to kids or parents that have kids. There are times I don't get them to them because either my throw was not on target or someone grabbed it before the child could get it. Not everyone can get a scoop every night. And we have three levels that need to be shown some love. No one is being left out on purpose. I find it hard to believe that the sections listed above have never been thrown a scoop. I can't speak for the rest of the guys but I try to throw a few scoops to each section that I am assigned to. Sorry for the long winded post, but I still can't believe this is still such a big complaint.

Hit Somebody!!!

Damn you Scoopers!!!

I think there is more important Komet news tonight than bean-bags. No offense you guys. Lets all hope that Kevin is ok. If you want ice cream, go buy it. If you want a bean-bag, make one out of an old sock and some....BEANS? Good Golly Gheesh.

By the way, thanks for the scoop I got tonight. I was going to have Scoops autograph it tonight after the game, but my wife wouldn't let me ask him.

Get well soon Kevin!

scoops

All I can say is the few kids that have taken the time to find me each game, I have taken the time to find them each night.

And thanks Jared. There was a guy tonight who used his hat and caught one over the top of a little boy I was aiming for. He promptly gave it to him. That is what its all about right there. Need more people like that.

scoops

Oh no...I would of thought being married was all the luck you had. That would of been pretty funny and it would of taken me by surprise, thats for sure. Regardless of our differences, it would be great to meet you both sometime.

Hit Somebody!!!

What differences? I have poor short-term memory when it comes to blog peeing matches. Who really cares anyway? I think we both argue to argue most of the time if not all the time anyhow. When it comes down to it, we both support the same team and teams...Go Colts!!! Go Komets!!! Go Cubbies!!! You do like the cubbies right? If not, 2 out of 3 ain't bad...

Jungle Monkey

Are there really 30 posts on here with people complaining about not getting a bean bag worth $2 of ice cream? Fort Wayne has some of the cheapest people in America. I run to the hallway everytime those knuckleheads come out. I hate kids screaming at the top of their lungs and running all over the arena. Some of them need a leash put on them!

St.Christopher

Mothers against scoop guys....great balls of fire someone call a WAAAAAMBULANCE!!!

redline

Sorry everyone, I'm off my soap box and did want to say that I hope Kevin is ok and have been glad to hear the all tests have come back negative thus far. I was at work during the game last night and was keeping tabs via the IHL website and text messages from friends at the game. GO KOMETS this weekend, especially at home against KZOO. I love you JM, always honest and that's great. Lastly, get well Kevin!!!

Justin Cohn

This is priceless:
