MUSKEGON, Mich. -- A woman in section 109 at L.C. Walker Arena, at the public address announcer's behest, just did the "Macarena." Why someone would put them through that sort of public humiliation I'll never understand.
But it wasn't slightly as gruesome as the nosedive the Komets took just afterward. They gave up goals on back-to-back shots, to Shea Hamilton and Mark Cadotte, and the Fury leads 2-1.
Early on, it was a game of special teams. Muskegon had the first three power plays, in the first seven minutes, and failed to score on any. Then the Komets got a 2:00 5-on-3 advantage and on the first shot, Pierre-Claude Drouin scored from the point. And just days ago, coach Al Sims was saying he needed to pass more. Shucks no.
Anyway, the Komets' defense got shoddy late in the period, hence the deficit.

again the Komets did not look good
watching on the b2 i have 2 observations.
The Komets PP is no good.
The Komets shot from the blue line all night..made thier goalie look good, but the Komets didn't pressure at all. YOu will win zero games shooting from the bluelne all night...

shooting from the point is worthless unless the forwards are willing to pay the price in front of the net.

They were in front tonight. Huk planted himself there a couple times. They came out early trying to fire on net and get shots, but they weren't at all productive IMO. Drouin's shot was a good one. Went top shelf. Alot of other shots from the point seem to just be to get it up there and hope someone pokes it in. Not shooting with a sense of urgency, and really not playing with any sense of urgency.

yeah, i would agree Jerad, they didn't play with any kind of urgency and thats what really bothers me more than anything.

Looks like the annual Komets December slump is upon us. Things should turn them self around by the holidays, they almost always do.
