Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher was selected as the International Hockey League's Goaltender of the Month, after going 3-0-1 with a 1.92 goals-against average. His only loss came in a shootout. Right wing Luciano Aquino won the Rookie of the Month award, after tallying nine goals and 15 points in 12 games.

Go Komets, I am suprised Boucher got that only playing 4 games. But sounds like he needs to play more.

How many games does it take to be a veteran?

As another poster would say , a wise man said that Boucher would end up as the Komets starting goalie before this season is over.

congrates to both :)

I think we can say we have the best 2 goalies in the league both being the goalies of the month in the first 2 month. Congrats to all of them

Congrats to both!!!!!

Boucher is da man!

Not just a water boy anymore to quote a few others. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Reiter scares me at times because of how far out of the net he comes...he has only been burned twice at home so far...it should be a good interesting hard fought battle.

The Komets are lucky to have 2 goalies with so much talent. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but when it comes down to getting it done they give it their all.
Contrary to what many others believe, I think Reiter will stay #1. Boucher still hasn't proven himself in my opinion.

why cant we just have two number ones? match them up with the strengths of the teams we play. pretty good spot to be in so why do we hav to argue about whos best? thats pretty silly. be glad we got both and use both!!!

bloominton is in need of a vetern. jason ralph retired today.
Posted by: chuckitt | December 04, 2007 at 05:25 PM
Trade Sessa.
Posted by: mightbite | December 04, 2007 at 05:44 PM
Too bad Ralph retired, I didnt like him to well, but he was a good player and fun to watch. Thats a big loss for Bloomington.
Posted by: brando | December 04, 2007 at 07:19 PM
Sad to see Ralphie go.
Trade Marchant.
Posted by: Jungle Monkey | December 04, 2007 at 08:25 PM
How about Marchant or Shafronov for Don Parsons? Or what about Hansen for Ewasko? Both are unlikely, but would be awesome!!!
Posted by: Henley67250 | December 04, 2007 at 09:50 PM
parsons is a vet and ewasko is a waste of roster space.
Posted by: chuckitt | December 04, 2007 at 10:07 PM
No way I want Ewasko on our team. No freaking way. That guy makes me sick.
Marchant needs to go. Sims has gotten rid of him before...and he will do it again. Sessa needs to pick it up and needs to be the main scorer on a line. How about these forward lines...
Aquino, Curadeau, Saidachev
Kukulka, Reynolds, Woods
Chaulk, PC, Sessa
Extra 2: Legault and Shafronov
D-Man pairings:
Guy & Shirokov
Henley & Hanson
Bertram & Durdin
In the crowd and on the ice if needed: Warner and Pence
These lines are workable.

I left off Hukalo on accident. Whoops...!!! Maybe Shafronov goes and Huk works into the lineup with Woods being an extra guy. I do like Woods on a regular shift though. He plays well.
Posted by: Hit Somebody!!! | December 04, 2007 at 10:23 PM
Looks like at least 2 guys will go maybe 3, and at least one guy will be someone that most will be very unhappy about.
Posted by: Hit Somebody!!! | December 04, 2007 at 10:25 PM
There really isn't a need for an Ewasko type player for the Komets now. Not with Henley coming back along with Legualt and Woods. I will be honest though, Ewasko looked to be skating better on Sat. then what he was during the early part of the year!
Posted by: Jerad Shaw | December 04, 2007 at 10:52 PM
All I will say is that I thought the K's played much better with the younger lineup in... I would not be suprised that if a couple vets dont pick it up that they may find themselves released/traded...
Btw Hit, Saidachev is hurt right now so you could plug Hukalo in your lines and take out Saidachev for now and they would work.. I dont think I break up Chaulk and Aquino though...

Boucher is ok but watching Reiter is more fun he gets in to the action Reiter is a very skilled goalie and I enjoy watching him!!!!!! :-)
LETS GO KOMETS!!!!!!
Posted by: Hockey girl | December 05, 2007 at 08:35 AM
I think Marchant hustles and will keep a spot on the team. Though I don't really want to say who should stay or go. I think coach will make the right decisions. And agreed, aquino should stay on chaulker's line. Over all, i'm still impressed by the team so far this year. Cant wait to see Guy skate again. And i was nervous about P.C.'s return, but i have to say it was a good one! i like the way he handles the puck and when these lines are figured out and a little more chemistry improves with the changes, i think everyone will be impressed. I can't make it to Kzoo, but i will be watching online!! cant wait to hear you guys cheering!! :) Go Komets!
