Quick count with Shonn Bell

Shonn Bell has been one of the Freedom's most consistent defensive lineman. We chatted after Thursday's practice.

Where are you from? Virginia.
Where did you go to college? Virginia-Wise.
You played in the NFL, right? I played with the Bears, Vikings, Browns, Detroit, Houston Oilers.
That's quite a list. How many years total? Four. I was hurt one year.
You played tight end, so why aren't you lining up at tackle a bit for a change of pace? When I decided to play arena, I wanted to switch positions. I kind of like it over there. But if they need me on offense, I can go either way. But right now, my specialty is on defense.
What do you do when you're not playing football? Working at a high school in Rock Island, Ill. I live in Davenport, Iowa.
What's your favorite TV show? Monday Night Raw.
Brandon Hurd said the same thing. Are you a wrestler, too? I wrestled in high school.
Do you have a nickname? Hurricane. When I was in college, it was a name I've got. Everybody thinks I'm a loose cannon, I guess. Crazy.
Is that a good thing? Yeah, it's a good thing. When I play, I'm more like a hurricane season.
I know you've had a couple personal fouls this year. It happens. Everybody gets those.
If you had a super power, what would it be? Travel in time.
Where would you go? Everywhere. Actually, I've never been to Jamaica. That'd be one of the first places I go. My dad is in the military, so I've pretty much been everywhere.
I read you were in Germany in high school. Yeah, all the way to my senior year.
What's one word that best describes you? Unpredictable.
In a good way? In a good way or a bad way.
What's the perfect Friday night? Getting some food, hanging out. When I don't have football, I just go see bands and hang out.
In Muskegon, they had a Ladies Night type of promotion. The female fans were able to bid on a date after the game with all the single players. What do you think? That would be a fun promotion.
You wouldn't know what you'd get. Yeah. But either way, someone gets to eat for free.
What was your favorite toy as a kid? Big Wheel.
What's the coolest vacation you've been on? I went to Canada. I went to this lake up in Vancouver. I'd never been there, and I know some people up there playing football. So they invited me up. It was great.
If you had to pick a theme song for your introduction, what would it be? "Superfly."

I actually had the oppurtunity to play with shonn bell and Chris Pike for the semi pro team Mid State Steel. He played DE while i was at OLB, SS me n him at a punt block for a touchdown in a game it was cool to be around someone with that much experiance
